"New" Purple 2004 SSR Spotted

The wife and I were out on the scoot this afternoon. We were driving through West Point VA and noticed a purple SSR sitting on a Chevy lot with the new vehicles. We pulled in and sure enough this appears to be a new truck. Sticker is still in the window, yellow and black label is still hanging from the glove box and the tires look like they've never been on the road. I looked over the drivers seat and it doesn't look like anyone has been sitting in it. It has the silver running boards. Didn't look over the sticker for options. I did notice the $46,800 sticker price. Here is the VIN: 1GCES14P44B112503

The name of the dealer is Whitmore Chevrolet in West Point VA. If anyone is interested and wants me to look at it let me know. It's not too far from the house.

I really don't think the dealer is dreamin'...surely he doesn't really expect to get that out of the The sticker on mine was higher than that and I didn't pay close to it, new, off the lot.

Does He have enough Huevos to take a $19,000 beating on the Deal of his lifetime? I think he has Jan & Dean, Beach Boys, and Sweet Daddy D on his mind. NOT a Signature, so just an also-ran. It may, however, be a Diamond-in-the -rough. Seems too high a price to make him a market price offer, tho. Just my .02.

He isn't advertising this (at least not on his dealership web site), so maybe he's just showing it off on his lot.

possibly not, but when I bought mine there was no indication it would be discounted until I started dealing and walking away...took them 6 weeks to come down to what I was willing to pay...of course, they were still being made then

$30K For a New 04?

A friend at work is going to look at the truck tomorrow. She asked me to go with her. I drove mine in today and I think that put her over the edge. Think $30K out the door for a new 2004 Ultra Violet would be a good deal? I think so based on what used 04 trucks are going for. She called the dealer and he's not asking sticker price. I'll let you know how it works out.

Anything peculiar about the 04's I should look at?

IMHO I think $30K is fair for what it originally stickered for and since its new. As far as quirks on the '04 goes, it will likely have the door handle and fan issue but if they give her full warranty that shouldn't be a major problem.

Even tho the UV is no longer the smallest production run color it is special

$30K for a new out of production vehicle such as the SSR is not bad at all in my eyes.

only slightly off subject

I heard, tonight, that there were some early UV SSRs made with Purple leather upholstery. Is this true? How many? Signatures?
