I knew when I undertook the SLURP project, currently being documented on this website, that I was going to need some of the money I have tied up in my supercharged and optimized SSR, in order to do what I have planned on SLURP.
I know it’s a little early in the car selling season, but if I can sell it early versus later, I can proceed faster on SLURP. So, let’s give it a shot right now.
The COMPLETE history of my SSR is also well documented right on this website. My SSR was also the one used to evaluate all the ideas, parts, kits, and solutions described in my 320 page e-book, “The SSR Experience”, which is also sold right on this website. My SSR is in fact the black SSR you see in many of the photos within the book.
Just check out my postings on this website since January of 2005, when I bought it brand new. That’s far better than any Carfax report! And, you’ll see that this is a pretty special SSR.
The vitals in order to know if this is a vehicle potentially of interest to you:
Model year: 2004
Engine: Supercharged (Magnuson kit from 2005SSR6speed – one of our site sponsors) 5.3 liter with additional (well documented) cam, intake and exhaust mods that create at least 575 crank horsepower – even after diverting 66 hp or so to driving the supercharger at high rpm (see my posting history on this website)
Transmission: The strongest version of the 4L60E automatic that Phoenix Transmission offers (the work was actually documented on this website – search using “Phoenix Transmission”). VERY nice crisp shifts
Color: Smokin’ Asphalt (Black), and the paint finish shines like new
Modifications: MANY, which are detailed in my sales brochure, which I will send to any SERIOUS potential buyer, but NONE that are in any way risky or that detract from daily civility. Many of the parts and kits are right from sponsors of this website (2005SSR6speed, Greg Ducato at Phoenix Transmission, Mike in AZ, etc). The engine idles with 16 inches vacuum, delivers over 20 mpg at a steady 60 mph on divided 4-lane, and needs only everyday 91 octane gas-station fuel. A buyer could pick it up and drive it home cross country with zero preparations required.
Condition: Absolutely nothing needed. Never involved in an accident or any damage.
Price: I can discuss privately with a serious buyer, but I will say the price is very unpretentious, and FAR lower than the value of the vehicle plus all the mods. I am realistic about market value versus what I put into it.
I have been informed that it is counter to the website's policies to include my direct phone numbers or email address within this ad, so I have now edited this ad to remove them. Therefore, please just send me a private message, giving me YOUR email and other contact information, and I will email you a detailed full color e-brochure that lists all the mods that I remember (I am sure I have forgotten some along the way), and I will also answer all your questions. I also have tons of photographs that I took from every angle last weekend.
Those of you worried that I might be leaving the website – no way. The SSR is deep within my bones. SLURP is a variant that shows what the SSR COULD have been if GM had not been constrained by modern regulations and market needs, but it is no replacement for the ultimate modern street cruiser with factory warranty that the SSR is. I am an SSR fanatic past, present, and future, and my SLURP and non-SLURP postings will continue!

Reason: compliance with website policies
I have personally driven Jims truck on more than one occaision and can confirm that his modifications are very well planned and executed and add a great deal of usable power and driving enjoyment to the truck. I think anyone with a modified SSR has Jim to thank for his contributions to our hobby and site.

I of course have mixed feelings. I am excited about the SLURP project, and the sale of my SSR enables purchase of the components I need for that project. But, my heart and soul went into my SSR - FAR beyond what most people will put into any possession, because it has been a PASSION.
My buyer seems as excited about my SSR as I have been, and that tells me it is going to a good home.
My friends have been calling and emailing with ideas and offers of help on SLURP. Many of those friends are regulars on this Fanatic forum, and they have REALLY good ideas and connections. It's about to get very HOT on that project. Stand by for excitement - much of it directly appicable to those of you with 03/04 SSRs . . .

Hmmmm...The masked 'man'....well, we know it's not HRG, wildcat, or waysouth. Nor various others of the non-man persuasion. Or you've got some splainin' to do.
