Moderators in the Forum donate their time.....they don't have time to re-post every ad that has been improperly posted by non-paying members.

... when did you get elected Sargent of Arms?
Both Dragon2U and nulogic1 have a good point.
Besides, these aids by non-paying members isn't something we see 24/7.
In the mean time, I'm going to PM Marc NY and see if some kind adjustment to the site rules can cure this issue.

While you are at it, see if you can get our members list back

Traditionally in the past we don't allow non-supporting members the ability to post direct links to selling of items. However, if a supporting member gets that link then he or she may be able to post it for all to see.

I miss that feature too... unfortunately we tried asking the owners to bring back that feature but they were concerned with the privacy of our members.
Don't know if how much of a real concern it is to be honest with you because those that want to be known have already posted their real names and used the pin map etc. Those that don't just keep their private information to themselves.

What I miss is the list of screen names registered so I can go there and find someone rather than try to remember a screen name I have read but not communicated with. The search for a name is tedious without it.
Thanks for trying.

And who cares if they are? Posting for sale items as a non member is not against the "rules", they just can't have a link to the item. They can post items or vehicles for sale all day long. The problem I see is that we are all looking for parts to extend the lives and enjoyment of these vehicles. If someone knows someone or finds something cool to share with the rest of us it would be nice to just link to that part or information instead of copying the entire ad and listing it here. I have done that in the past and had a TON of emails from people asking me about the item. It wasn't mine to sell but they don't read the post. Simple links to items help reduce that.
Speaking of links and money, I know this wasn't an Ebay item but all EBay sales made from links on this forum make money for Autoforums. You would think they would appreciate the extra money if by members or non members but even those links aren't allowed. As long as the poster isn't abusing posting or selling, I just don't see the issue.
Membership has some privileges and some drawbacks. I am happy to support a forum where we can all meet no matter who is hosting it but I don't care for all the off topic discussion. I would guess that 80-90% of the bandwidth used on this site is used for off topic areas and therefore where most of the money goes. Like most, I view the site by "active threads" and hate having to wade through all the titles of the topics and wish there was a subscription method to limit certain areas of interest. But that isn't going to happen so I live with what I have and continue to try and enjoy what I have with everyone here. Just don't understand some of the rules .......

Ahhhhh, I did right after that. The entire paragraph was devoted to it. Having to view the "SMOT" posts when non members don't have to see them is a drawback IMHO. Yes, I know I don't have to click and read them but I still have to wade through and read all the topic titles which is sometimes bad enough.
The link was for 4 Satin SSR wheels for sale in San Antonio,TX. Price was $300. They have a contact number and picture of wheels. I just see people posting that they need a wheel here and there and was trying to bring it to the attention of the general public here. I have no association what so ever with the post and am not trying to make a buck. Excuse me for trying to help.

Then don't use active threads. You still see what's posted since you were here last and don't have to look at the forums that don't interest you. Hardly a drawback.
