Part of the deal I made with Iris to get Sig #12 was to sell the Pac Blue FPR and Signature #23.
The Pac Blue has been sold.
I purchased Signature #23 from the original owner in May 2007. He had originally purchased it at auction in Dallas in November 2003 for $97000.
Added October 29th
MSRP was $48865, including the $5000 cost of the Signature Series package. The actual cost of handbuilding the Signature SSRs was significantly more than that of the production SSRs. They were brought back to Lansing and disassembled and reassembled multiple times to be upgraded to reflect any production changes. The Signatures received all the production electrical upgrades.
Signature #23 was one of six Media Evaluation SSRs. It was featured in the Detroit Free Press, San Diego Union-Tribune, Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Truck Trend, LA Times, Arizona Republic, King Magazine, Dub Magazine, and KABC-TV7 Los Angeles. I was able to contact many of the publications and have copies of the articles signed by the original writers. It will also come with a copy of the 2 minute feature video from KABC TV.
The article in the San Diego Union-Tribune says that Signature #23 went to Jay Leno, Tim Allen, and the Monster Garage crew, but I have not yet been able to document that.
Sig #23 was on the grid at the Indianapolis 500 in May 2003 for the parade laps, and did additional duty throughout Memorial weekend with the international press at Indianapolis.
Link to the background information on Tim Olson, one of the GM execs whose signature is on #23.
It has 6856 miles and is in excellent condition. It was washed twice with Dawn, claybarred, and Zaino'ed several times. I spent a lot of time going over it with a random orbital polisher using Zaino Fusion to eliminate minor scratches. Considering it was driven extensively by various magazine and newspaper reporters, the paint was in really good condition.
I wasn't happy with a slight bend in the prop rod - replaced it. Replaced the hood blanket because it was nicked where the prop rod had missed the hole at some point. The trunk carpeting and wood strips are in great condition. The warning label on how to close the rear lid is still in place.
Sig 23 got a new Delco battery last week with the same part number as the original.
The Signature trucks did not have the rubber rear fender guards, and the rear fenders are in exceptionally good condition. There are minor rock chips on the rear wheels, but no curb rash on any of them. I was going to have them repainted, but was convinced by a local collector that it was better to keep them in their original condition.
The Signature trucks came with color matched engine covers with billet aluminum trim strips, silver stitching on the seats, embroidered SSR logos on the seat backs, and the Signature Series badging on the tailgate. The front fascia did not have the front plate mounted, so it is intact.
The numbered aluminum box containing the numbered scrapbook and the signed magazine and news articles and the video tape will be included.
I am quite realistic about current market values, so the price is very reasonable, but I would prefer to keep it confidential.
Please PM me regarding price, or any more information you want on Signature #23.
I have scanned the front pages of several of the newspaper and magazine articles, but can't upload tif files to display as photos. Send me a PM with your email address and I will forward the scanned information.

Adding more photos, and trying to upload scanned files. Until I can figure out how to upload scanned pages from the scrapbook, etc, adding a photo of the first page of the Car and Driver article.
The second photo is of the signboard we are using at car shows.

Good luck to him.
At least they're down from the $150000 asking price they've had on Autotrader for the last two years. Getting more realistic about it
Here's a link to one of the articles written about the Signature trucks. The list is also in the hardcover book SSR An American Original. You can have your very own list - it's part of the scrapbook that comes with #23.
This list is fairly good, but not up to date. All of them did sell. #23, for example sold for $97000 - the list says it did not sell.
Has the photos of the paintings that went with the Art Series Signature SSRs.

Thanks, Lynn
Hate to sell it, but that was part of the deal getting Sig 12 - getting down to one driver, and only one "useless one" in Iris's words.
Also motivated to some extent by fear of the unknown. Two weeks ago, we were doing pretty well. The tanking exchange rate created instant havoc in the boat business, with lots of cancelled orders. It now seems to have stabilized, and is in fact improving again.
To give others an idea of how much of a joy it is doing commerce with fluctuating exchange rates, the price of a $40000 US ski boat has bounced between $64800 (December 2003) and $38500 (December 2007). Mid August, that $40000 would have been $41200 Canadian. Monday, it would have been $53000. This morning, it would be $50144. Try controlling inventory costs with those kinds of variables at the time of year dealers are stocking up on product for the following summer.
Don't know how long these exchange rates will hold, but for the moment, it's a great deal.
If they improve significantly, the price will need to go up. The messed up Canadian dollar is someone's chance to get a great truck at a very low price.
I take goood care of my SSRs, right Lynn?
For any potential Canadian buyers, the asking price is in US$
This is an extremely well documented Signature truck. Scrapbook, carrying case, signed articles. So far I have not found the equivalent information for Signature 12.
