lot of SSR on lots

I was talking to a local dealer last week about buying a new van for the Court. I told him I saw 3 SSR on his lot the other day. He said "No" we have 4. About two months ago I stoped in and they wanted sticker or more and when I told him I could go to Texas and get a discount he looked at me and said no way. Now he is has all of these on his lot and cannot sell. They have been there for quite a while. The salesman manager then told me they "would really deal" I told him no thanks as the 05, 06, 07, etc will have the 6.0 and I will just sit back and wait.
I agree with a lot of you that the= #1 Chevy got greedy and when overboard in pricing the SSR in the first place, saying it would be in the $30's, and then #2 the dealers ordered them loaded up and went way over sticker. I am Chevy all the way but that is just unreal pricing for this truck.
I met one of the many SSR owners on Saturday at a local car show that paid $5,000.00 over sticker. I it like sport's tickets- as long as they buy at that price.
I plan on buying a SSR (with 1SA), but will sit back and pay a fair price.

A $500 dealer fee! They must be kidding!

I have been looking at the SSR's for 2 years now. Last year I went to Buff Whelan Chevrolet because they had the largest inventory. When Asked how much for the car the salesperson said $10,000 over the sticker. I laughed and walked out. Thats about $55-57,000 for this vehicle. In Nov. of 2004 he still had 5 or 6 of these on his lot and the prices painted on the windshield said $37-38,000. I went by there in the end of Jan. 2005 and they were still there. Then the 2005 models rolled in and the 04's dissapeared real quick. I was just in there yesterday looking at the 05's and was given such a line of BS about the car." Oh , its the hottest selling item we have".and so on. I asked why he still had 04's and got another line of BS. So folks. wait till the end of ther year because they are not going to sell. Buff Whelan has at least 20 of these on his lot that I could see. I just found a brand new 04 that a dealer has offered to sell to me for just under $37,000. Just got to go out and look for them.

I have already talked to him about an '05; I am 1st on the list, he said he will give me what I paid and could turn it for an extra 2K in no time.

Slydur, I was just wondering if you'd spoken recently to the dealer that promised you that a year ago, and did he keep his word?
