It's a sad day for me but I've got to sell my '05 SSR that I've absolutely LOVED! This is a custom hot rod that gets TONS of attention everywhere it goes. I've had cops pull me over just to see and talk about the truck. And it's no trailer or garage queen. I daily drove it for a year and don't fear driving anywhere in it. There are a few upgrades that only Fanatics would appreciate.
Description:
• Engine
o LS2 with Cartek ported heads and Cartek cam
o Corvette C6 rear sump oil pan
o 5k miles on new engine (original engine had a valve spring break @ 77k miles and destroyed the engine)
• LC32 Tubular Engine Crossmember kit
o Allows use of C6 Vette oil pan
o Reduces weight
o Tightens front suspension
• 6-speed manual transmission
• Kooks headers
• Magnaflow high flow cats and custom dual 2.5” exhaust (will pass TX inspection)
• Sidepipes can be functional but aren’t currently connected
• 4.10 rear gears
• 20” KMC chrome wheels
• Hard saddle bags
• Auxilary gauges
• Carpeted rear bed w/wooden accent strips
• Pioneer radio w/Bluetooth, XM/Sirius, HD radio, iPod connection (still have original radio also)
• Custom built box behind seats where tweater box used to be with 2 Rockford Fosgate 8” subs (will include original tweater/amp box)
• Custom work done by Timeless Kustoms in Southern California (it was built as their SEMA shop car)
o Lowered front and rear: 2” front (coilovers) / 3” rear
o Custom front end w/removed Chevy logo and custom grill bars
o Smoothed and painted engine cover
o Custom built 4” sidepipes w/marine baffles
o Custom old school pinstriping on hood
o Painted brake calipers
o Custom paint that also flows into the interior
o Custom suede inserts in the seats
o All emblems, logos, etc. shaved from the body
Now for the bad (well, some are good depending on your point of view):
The truck currently has 78,xxx miles on it. At around 77k miles I had a valvespring break which caused carnage to everything in that cylinder including a hole in the block and oil pan. I replaced the whole thing with an LS2 out of a GTO that had 5k miles on it. This new motor had Cartek ported heads and a custom cam from Cartek. I've only put about 150 miles on the new engine. I also added the LC32 crossmember and C6 vette oil pan when I put the new engine in.
There are 2 things that aren't working and I might have fixed depending on how fast this thing sells. The power mirrors aren't working. It might be as simple as a fuse but I haven't had the time to dig into it. The driver power door lock doesn't work either.
Also, since I drove this daily and the truck sits so low the front end has some rock chips. No big deal but don't expect flawless paint. Although, the paint is still a DARN good looking paint job. This was Timeless Kustoms (Southern California) SEMA truck so they didn't cut corners on the paint.
I'll add more as it comes to me but that's it for now.
I'm asking $27,000. REDUCED TO $23,999
Thanks,
Travis

A little more info on the sound system.
I installed the Pioneer in the dash and it has a microphone by the rear view mirror for the Bluetooth hands free calling, a cable that has an iPod/iPhone connection, a USB connection as well for music, an XM/Sirius tuner that's under the passenger seat, it's HD capable (needs a box or activiation or something), and a wireless remote. The Bluetooth is neat because it also supports Bluetooth audio. That means I can either pull my iPhone out of my pocket and connect to the iPod connector and control the songs through the head unit or I can connect wirelessly through the Bluetooth connection and control the songs through the iPhone. I used a converter box to retain the Bose RAP features to integrate the new head unit with the Bose amp and speakers and computer.
I needed a little more bass so I made a sealed box to house two Rockford Fosgate 8" subs and replaced the tweater/amp box with the sub box. I then repositioned the Bose amp behind the driver seat where the tire pump used to sit. I re-routed the little computer box to the rear wall behind the passenger seat behind the carpet. I then mounted the new amp to power the subs behind the passenger seat on top of the carpet. I used a Precision Power 2-way amp (old school extremely clean and powerful amp). The amp was dropped a while back before I installed it and because of that it overheats sometimes and turns off. It only happens on hot days with the top down or when I've been driving for awhile and listening to music with a lot of bass.
I'd also like to add that I can return the sound system back to stock if needed. I kept all the original parts to do so and nothing is modified that wouldn't allow going completely back to stock radio, back tweater box, etc.
My SSR: Pac Blue '06, HID conversion, LEDs for ALL lights, 20"/22" rims, AirPod suspension,
Wasn't this for sale about a year ago? I know I saw it. Are you the second owner or did it never sell? I remember this truck with different rims. It's you, right?
I wanted to buy it, but I thought it had "sold" so I did not inquire. Red is not a color I would ever own personally, but this color combo/paint job is one of the best I have ever seen. It was this truck that made me decide to pursue getting an SSR! Too bad I already own one now, or I'd buy this one!
Yes, I bought it last December. I wish I could keep it but job and family changes have forced my hand. You're right, the color combo is amazing! I wish I could get the effect of the brushed silver color in the accent and on the roof in a picture but it's beyond my photography skills. I know it's so cliche, but you really have to see this color combo in person.
Thanks for the comments, guys. It's really going to be sad seeing this thing leave my driveway for the last time. Now I know how the guy felt when I bought my '69 Vette and drove away from his house.
I'm curious why there has been no interest in this SSR. Is it the relatively high mileage? Is it my honesty in the few things that aren't perfect? The longer it takes to sell, the more time I will have to fix the few minor problems and the more firm I will be on price. I know customs are hard to place a value on and can sometimes take longer to find the right person but I'm amazed at the overwhelming positive comments I get on it when I drive it around and show it at events and then the lack of any real interest in selling it. I'm considering putting it on eBay but I really wanted it to go to someone here who is a true SSR enthusiast. I'll give it another week or two and then it's probably going on eBay.
My SSR: #23198 06 Blue 3SS #375 of 532 - Birthday 12/21/05 - Took delivery 9/5/06 (2nd owner)
I would love it, b ut I do not have access to the money for a year and then have no place to store it. Therefore I cannot make an offer. I really wish I could.

Many people do not agree with this, but it is my opinion it is tough to sell an SSR on this forum, simply because almost all Fanatics already own one and even if someone wants to make a change it is quite possible they have to sell what they have first.
I think it is the Guests that are more likely to be buyers. By now if there were any Fanatics in the market they should be aware your gorgeous SSR is for sale. IMO if you truly want or need to move on you may as well be trying in other sale venues at the same time. As far as selling to a true SSR enthusiast, your next buyer will become one if they aren't already.

I think you've got a point. This forum doesn't have near the # of members of some of the other car forums I participate in and probably 99% of the folks here already have an SSR.
