A 06' Pac Blue is on Ebay that does not have runningboards or a bedliner. Does that mean it has a regular pick-up bed? Seems odd...
They state that they are the orginal owner with 22,800 miles and a "Buy It Now" price of $27,900.
VIN # 1GCES14H36B122175
It does not have "Grand Ma" running boards, bed liner, or chrome wheels, and therefore it is rare and more valuable? Yeah...
Well...........seeing as only 6.6% of 06s were base models, it does make this one fairly rare.
Rare does not necessarily translate into desirable. No boards, no chrome wheels, no carpeted trunk, and looking like no chrome package, make it a fairly crappy truck in a nice color.

I'm with Ray on this evaluation.....bare-bones-rare.

So are you saying that 6.6 SSR's are crappy. Shame on you ....
Not sure what you're thinking I said. I did say that 6.6% of SSRs were crappy.
Maybe a bad choice of words - hey it was late. Should have said crappily optioned.
A poorly optioned truck is just that. This one was missing:
Chrome package - $2000
Chrome wheels - $1000 to swap, $2000 to buy
Running Boards retail $375, selling for 600 plus
Carpeted trunk - almost impossible to buy, but selling for $2000
Auxiliary Gauges - $500
1SS does not have heated or memory seats, 6 disc changer, dimming mirrors, etc.
A stripped down 1SS starts life at about $7000 less than a loaded 3SS.
So yes, 6.6% of the trucks out there start life worth significantly less than the other 93.4% of them.
At least this little bit of controversy is not a political one.
Besides, this is the third time in a month BBO and I have agreed, so that should count for something.

I tend to like "strippers". Remember the Businessman's Coupe '57 150 WidowMaker, no back seat, no heat, no radio, no frills, just a big ole 283, fuel injected. Ultra rare, ultra valueable.

Just not sure I can stick around another 54 years to see a stripper SSR become valuable.
I can't even imagine how much more crotchety I would be.
Maybe a stripper two-tone 6 speed would get there quicker than that?

Hey, my wife wants a truck to carry manure around in. Hmmmmmm..............
I beleive I have one those "strippers"....it is what I wanted...
I have since installed satin running boards....just a plastic bedliner in the cargo area...single cd player with a mp3 player no chrome ..and no heated seats....
My SSR: "Kate" a Haughty Redhead, '06 Redline FPR 6 spd. #23333 Build Date 2/16/06
We all agree the SSR is cute as hell!
This may fit the bill for someone that wants one and would rather pay less or
cannot afford to buy a highly optioned one. Whatever it takes I say!
Are you almost ready to get back in the game Huaw?

I'd love to get back in the game! Better yet, I'd love to get back in seat again! I'm still a Blues Brother at heart and when I see a Pac Blue that I can ALMOST afford, I get a little excited!
Until the new bride gets her "bigger" house, I can't pull the trigger on another one any time soon. : You all keep enjoying your R's and maybe someday Marty who lives 4 houses down the street might let me take his custom for a drive!

I'm sure its been a long time since Marty had a dollar tucked!
Marty was REALLY excited one day when he came home from work and saw my R' parked in the drive one day... REALLY disappointed when I chose to find her a new home... I'm REALLY looking forward to getting him and Dee excited again! About me getting another R' of course! LOL!

Yes, I love it and am looking for one! That Black Widow black & white 2 tone paint job along the 150 trim is 6 lug steel wheels, dog dish hub caps, roll bar, radio & lock delete. I've got the build book and web link right here.

I found one in HRG's neighborhood, but it was gone by the time I called So now I'm thinking clone with a RamJet 350 crate engine.
Excelent links. NASCAR of today should read the definition or 'STOCK CAR' ; I'm pretty sure any Impala you can buy new today isn't rear wheel drive, nor does it have two doors.
My dream "heater and a key" ride is a '64 Impala SS with a 409 and a Muncie 4 speed.
My father in law has a lifetime friend that has one in his personal museum. He also has a '66 Shelby Cobra with 6 miles on it, appraised a few years ago at $ 1.5 million. They move it around on dollies.....
Hey Larry, I think the most important thing is to find a SSR you can afford. Once you have it, you can add what (you) want to it and make it your own. Everyone sees the SSR's differently and that's what make them so special along with the group of Fanatics that come along with them. They would just be another truck without this group of people. The first important thing and hardest is the color you want. Good luck.

Your absolutely right on all those points Dee! I'm still stuck on the Pacific Blue which is only available on the 06'. Having one repainted doesn't come cheap if I found a o3' or 04' but then I'd miss that 6.0 liter engine the 06' had... Seems like I wanna have my cake and eat it too! LOL!
That Pac Blue/Black 06' in Arizona for $22,000 is awfully tempting I do have to say... I just keep believing that the day will come!
