Wanted - Red FPR Auto/chrome

Looking for a Red FPR Automatic. Will consider a non-FPR with all the same equipment.

Must be 3SS, chrome package, chrome wheels with absolutely no curb rash, factory carpeted trunk, under 5000 miles, no damage.

Please reply by PM if your SSR has all of the above and you are interested in selling.

I would prefer a totally stock truck.

Good Luck on your quest Flassh, sounds like the "Holy Grail" of SSRdom, except for the color of course.

Not yet - but I saved a lot of money this weekend at McDormans.

I'd like to get her one for next summer. I think it would make a nice 60th birthday present.

Found two really nice trucks - all there except for the FPR designation. Just checking to see if an FPR might become available.

It would be a more popular choice than another museum piece.

With an FPR you get a little waterfall badge, and bragging rights, I guess. Does she care about either?

She doesn't. I do. Found a couple of good ones that are an option if an FPR truck doesn't come around within a reasonable time. I have one of Marc's badges on the shelf for just such an occasion.

Good luck in your search Ray. Just curious on how many RED/FRP/auto/chrome trucks were actually built (or any other specific color). I tried looking for a list breaking down FRP colors but could only find the grand total FRP numbers......

xoxoxo, you mention this so often I do believe you could be suffering from that disease commonly referred to as FPR Envy.
It is somewhat akin to the phenomena that occurred when women who felt repressed wished they were men and it was referred to as Penus Envy. However, we all know that situation has reversed as now most men want to be lesbians.

Maybe at Mexican border when they burned 200 tons of Moonbeamville's #1 cash crop, I heard there was a huge crowd fighting for the best spots to "watch" the spectacle.

nope was easier for you to tell us Ok back to my question, your nice thread indicates of the total 115 Redline FPR, 89 are Auto. It also mentions a total of 61 had the chrome package (VJ5 option)....... so can't tell how many of the 89 auto's had VJ5.....just curious how many exist meeting Ray's criteria.

Thanks for the link Cash!!

You can get that information on the 2006 by color thread. It will list all the Redlines with and without VYJ. Just a matter of counting them up.

Envy having a truck built by a bunch of people that have been told they are losing their jobs? I think not.
Laugh at people thinking theirs is special because of a Chevy marketing ploy? Special rides the short bus.

Isn't any "Special Edition" of any model a marketing ploy?

Why do "Indy Pace" versions of Corvettes, Camaros or whatever else carry more value than a comparable stock model? Anything built in a run of 3000 or less will carry more value than the identical vehicle in stock configuration.

The various parade versions of SSRs are more desirable than an identically equipped stock vehicle for many buyers.

If I have two very similar trucks to choose from, at a comparable price, comparable mileage, I will choose the FPR. There are two very good loaded trucks out there now to be grabbed, but no sale so far. Waiting for an FPR to show up.

It obviously has no value to you. I don't have a problem with that.

Jeez..... I just hijacked my own thread.

Back to looking for a loaded red FPR.

Oooooh, I get it now. That FPR badge was a warning sign for unlearned buyers to be wary of poor quality construction by disgruntled employees.
You are so lucky you didn't get caught in that trap!! I gotta admit, I do not have the foggiest notion what "Special rides the short bus" means.

I phoned him a bit ago and he is indeed another real life Doug Allen!
However, he says he sold that one over a year ago and cannot figure out a way to kill that ad. Chatted for a while and he was telling me about a friend of his that has a that was trailered from the dealership to his garage. No luck getting owner info on that one unfortunately.

Thanks again, Sandy, but no cigar on this one either.

Just called him.

Says he sold it over a year ago, but he keeps getting phone calls and has no idea how it got on that site.

Don't let these minor setbacks deter you from your mission.
