Gfp

This program is similar to GMS only better for the outside consumer. A true GMS customer cannot use his GM card earnings and this program allows now GM employees to use their card. The code for this program was properly called GFP
...... not too hard to figure those intials out. G = Goofy F = you fill in the blank
P = Program. And that it is.

Hey Steve,

You have it close up there... FYI: GM employees can still use their GM Card earnings but we can't earn 5% anymore... we only get 1% earnings now.

OH MY! I now see that "GFP" has a new name? ...

I think you may want to check.....My programs state that for this promotion, if you want to call it that, true GMS people can not use their cards. But the "other people" can.

SSR Pricing

[quote] HI Calcustom,

Don't take this the wrong way I am not focusing on you alone here ... I agree with the first part of the above saying the “feeling” is the real satisfaction. It isn't always about how much coin I squeezed out of my best deal. However it seems to me that a lot of people still feel the need to say “I stole” something or I got something for practically free etc etc!

Marc NY,
I understand and somewhat agree with your reply. I was mearly trying to express how I obtained the best deal, maybe others looking to purchase an SSR or any other vehicle at a good price will do the same. There are deals out there and this is just one method of finding them, that's all.

I have read numerous posts on this site how perspective buyers feel salesmen cannot be trusted, I do not feel this way and stated the Internet sales staff are great folks. I think they understand if you are shopping over the Internet you have done all of your homework as to what is considered a good deal, and they are willing to present you with rock bottom pricing without having to haggle. I was just giving Redtoes or any other perspective buyers my method of finding the best price in order to make a deal and start enjoying their dream of SSR ownership.

AND back to my orginal question...

After all this discussion, the confusion still exsists. I just want to find the lowest price a consumer can get on an SSR. I'm not interested in taking food out of anyone's mouth or stealing the keys when a salesman's back is turned.
I feel this is a major problem with buying an auto. Do they make it confusing on purpose? I say yes.
I like the GMS program that arrived after I asked the question. Seems more like a flat "everyone is happy" price.
I'm going tomorrow to the dealer that has the SSR I want and will make the offer I was going to make BEFORE GMS. $7840 off MSRP.
See what happens...

Hi Calcustom,

You are right ... knowledge is our best offense when you go to a dealer. Todays internet changes all the rules in buying a vehicle. You can compare prices anywhere in the country and know exactly what are the best deals out there. For years our buying knowledge was limited to just our own areas and rarely did we ever look outside our back yards for better deals.

I have learned so much more about how many different kind of deals are being made because of the internet. It seem like almost every week (or in my case even days ) there seems to always be some better buying twist that comes along.

I am still amazed and yes even surprised at how different many of our dealers deal. The deals that I thought were almost "impossible" to make just a year ago are now being made. It is just a matter of time before someone can find the right dealer with the right price to make you a happy owner.
