WTB: 2005-06 under 30K miles ***DONE***

UPDATE: FOUND ONE WE LIKED AND BOUGHT IT!
(FYI - it is a 2005 Ricochet Silver, 1SB, ERK, VXM, 14P, RAE, C44 Automatic w/21,000 miles purchased for $25,900)

We are looking for a 2005 or 2006 only - with AUTO TRANS and CHROME WHEELS, and can travel/transport if need but are in an unpopulated area where supply is scarce.

We're well aware of all the usual online sources - autotrader/everycarlisted/automax/craigslist etc. and have seen many that are potential buys - but thought we would put it out here as well.

The time frame is limited - we'll likely buy one in the next week or so.

Preferred -
Garaged
The more factory extras the better
Red, Yellow (black is the very last choice)
Wood Trim Bed
Heated seats

Absolutely NO -
Accidents, salvage, rust, lemons, sandblasted, repainted, bondo

Some sellers are asking as much as $48K....way over our budget for this. Market price has these selling around the mid-high $20s however. We would prefer to not have to haggle on price, but honor the seller's reasonable asking price if it's fair. So please PM if you've got one you're selling one for UNDER $30,000.

Thanks!

PS - did I mention ? - The time frame is limited - we'll likely buy one in the next week or so. If you come across this post in 2012, a reply would be wasted. :-)

The SSR'S that are over 30K are the 2006 FPR'S and Two Tones with low miles./

I am not sure but a manual may work better if you plan to tow your SSR with an RV? If so, I am sure someone here as the answer to the towing issue.

Thanks - sorry for the confusion - no we wouldn't tow - only drive it home, trailer, or use a car transport company.

SSR's for sale

Here at Houston Hyundai dealer in Houston Texas - New and Used Hyundai dealership Spring Conroe Woodlands Texas, we usually have a large selection of SSR's. Today we are a little low with only 10 or 11. We also have several on the way. Take a look at our inventory, if we don't have what you want, give me a call and I'll let you know whats incoming.

Thanks.

So would a 2006 FPR with Two Tone and 27K miles be - a bad, or fair, or fantastic deal, at $30K?

I have to guess maybe it would hold value better than a "basic" version with similar miles and equipment?

Thanks, we've looked already and didn't find anything, but good to know there are more incoming if we're still searching. I'll pass this to to my husband.

Good deal?....If it is in excellent condition the price sounds reasonable.
As far as holding value. FPR value

One could get nitpicky and say it depends which TuTone because if it was a it would be a fantastic buy.
I am going to assume this is the in TN. If it had 20k miles on it I would say fantastic but as they get towards 30k it seems the market shies a bit. I am not sure but I don't think this one has carpeted cargo so I would say it is a "good" buy at $30k. It is a 3SS, no VYJ with boards and gauges (cargo unknown). It has black boards so they were either added or painted as the options would have been satin or silver when ordered. Good buy.

I figured out what 3SS was easily - but what is "VYJ"??????

Yes the one in TN is under consideration - especially as it's within 1/2 days drive for us.

Thanks everyone - we're learning a lot here fast and now are getting more picky as a result LOL

Refining the search

Just an update in our UNDER $30,000 2005-2006 search. (Had to restate this since I've been receiving PMs that are about earlier years and/or much higher priced)

I'm helping my husband look and urging him to not pull the trigger too fast - but rather wait for the "right" one. He has however, just sold 2 other cars and now has none, so is on the fast track unless we get a rental car - or I keep letting him take mine. :-(

Since coming to the forum I've learned a lot and now have a more specific set of wishes on the MUST HAVE list.

*only* 2005 or 2006 only ('06 preferred)
Automatic Trans
Chrome wheels (chrome package preferred)
Boards
Windscreen (if possible though I think there are maybe aftermarket ones?)
Under 30K miles
Carpeted Bed with wood (preferred)
2 Tone, Red, or Yellow (in that order) - maybe a Silver or Blue if it's really nice
GMPP (an extra that can be added, but better if it was with it)

An 06 is a great choice.

Thanks - We've looked at some items as optional/buy later - but it's way better to find one as close to what we want as possible. Original Boards seem to be sort of scarce - and not sure about cost. Chrome however - I saw a set that sold for nearly $2000 on ebay and was like, whoa! Better get those ON the car. Besides, that was one of the very first/main things my husband mentioned he was looking for.

VYJ is interior and exterior chrome package - MY2006 only. So if chrome is important, unless it has been added, you need to look at a 2006.
And yes, it is a very expensive proposition to add later, some suggest around $3500.
