Chrome Wheel Exchange

I just called L.A. wheels to ask them some questions about their chrome wheel exchange program, as it is advertised on Ebay, and the girl on the phone told me they dont currently do this for the SSR. Though I pointed out they had an auction on ebay for it, she mumbled through some sentence fragments, and I got off the phone.

So, does anyone have an idea of who actually does this? Evidently, I can buy the wheels out right from LA for 1800, but I would much rather save most of that via exchange.

I recently did the swap through the local Discount Tire Shop, Sideburns.

They ordered the chrome wheels and once available (about three or four days) performed the installation including all of the balancing stuff for about 675 bucks out the door.

Other than the bill, it was completely painless and I am very satisfied.

Tony, Golfer2 - He has become a Chrome Wheel expert, if fact, he is probably the best expert on ALL SSR Chrome.

He got his wheels from LA, I believe and had a warranty problem.

I suggest you contact him.

yes, dick bellville is right. i am the xpert ! i took the exchange deal from L A wheel. rims look great. i had one start to flake and chip. this is how their warranty works. you can send them a picture for them to give a first look. then you have to ship the rim back to them. (your cost) then they will check it and if they agree that it is a warranty case, they will fix it and ship it back to you . (once again at your cost) also you have the costs of removing wheel from SSR, remove tire from wheel, replace tire on wheel, balance wheel and tire, put wheel back on SSR, so if you want a 3 wheel SSR, L A wheel's warranty is good for you. by the time i got my wheel repaired and back from L A wheel (over a month) and on my SSR, i would have been better off to just buy a new wheel and throw the other one away.

That sounds terrible. I wont be going down that road.

I talked to the guy in Florida, his deal sounds the best at this point, especially as far as quality goes.
