Custom SSR Billet Door Sills
It has been awhile since I last introduced a new part to my billet accessories, here is the newest part hot off the CNC machine!!! Billet door sill covers / plates that are engraved with either the SSR text or outline as shown below. Although they look like chrome, all my parts are made with solid 6061 aircraft grade aluminum polished to a high sheen. Should any scratches occur they are easily removed with billet polish, or they can be painted to hold the current look or the surfaces can be scuffed to develop a brushed finish, a very versatile metal.
They are contoured like the OEM version but sized to fit over the indented areas so there is a clean look to the installation. Unlike the OEM version, there is no ridge on these, they are flat, and will easily fit over the tailgate sill area as well. All parts come with double stick tape already installed, just clean, peel and stick.
Price is $70 each (one sill) plus shipping. This way you can build an order the way you want as far as numbers of pieces and mix and match the logos. For more information about any of my billet parts please view my original thread here: Engine Billet Items
Mike, great job I am sure I will need a set soon, a couple of questions, it looks like I see a chrome handle to recline the seats, and chrome strips for the running boards/ Are these your design I don’t remember seeing these listed, or are they aftermarket some where else?

Thanks frose
Yeah, I have been getting quite a few PM's about that one picture ..... you guys have eagle eyes
Seat handles are from another GM truck and were around $40 a pair or so, I think all trucks of the same era have the same type handle.
The chrome runners on the steps is a 3/4 (?) inch wide strip of flexible chrome trim like Alex05SSR uses for other areas of the truck. It is available at nearly all automotive stores. I trimmed the ends to match the existing end shape and on the UV it really pops. Many years ago I used black step grip tape cut to size on the silver 05 and it looked great too, but this time I wanted something a little more shiny.

I was going to have a gentleman install some black rubber molding on my running boards which were almost flat with just a slight crown in the center but waiting for the painter to make a couple of touch ups. The chrome looks nice.

Ah, I'm Just Truckin' With Ya!
When Mike and I first talked about this after he had put the trim on his runnung boards, I'm pretty sure that the strips he used were 1/2" wide. I could not find that size here locally for a while.
However, lately I've noticed that the 1/2" wide chrome trim molding has finally become available here in some of the Auto Zone, Advance Auto, and Pep Boys stores. The available widths include the following: 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1-3/8", and 2".
If you'll let your imagination go, you'll be surprised of the uses that you can come up with for this trim. Heck, as much of it as I've used of the various sizes, I should have bought stock in the stuff. I've had a lot of fun with it.
By the way and back to the original scheduled program.....Mike's door sills are really great! I've got the set for the 2 doors and the one for the cargo area as well. They compliment and complete the ensemble of his other products very nicely, and very tasefully.

So how do you treat the ends after you cut your strip to whatever desire length. I picture the ends looking dull and coarse.

You can ask Mike what he did, if anything special.
The trim is actually gray in color under the chrome surface. If you cut it with a very sharp pair of sissors, you'll get a clean cut which is fine. It also depends what color the surface is that I'm mounting the the chrome trim on. If the surface is black, I ususally color the gray cut ends of the trim with a black permanent marker. However on silver, like my SSR, I leave it gray. Also, you can cut the chrome trim on a very slight bevel inward which will basically hide the cut ends of the trim.
Welcome ezduzit & glad you found us! If you have questions about your R post away and I'm sure someone here will be able to help.
Mike (Dragon2U) makes the sill plates and they look fantastic (just picked up 3 of'em at the Maggie Valley rally). Think you'll need a couple more posts to PM him (if I remember right you have to have five posts to the forum before PM is available).
