Hey Mike, Would it be easier to list the parts that have NOT been discontinued???

(Now that I look at it, it's "reality" not funny).

This is very disturbing, although not particularly unexpected. My question is, does not GM have some legal responsibility to make parts available for their products for at least some reasonable time after production?

Like it or not, BYERS . . . just makes sense.

Especially, considering the 17th will mark three years since the last SSR rolled off the production line.

It doesn't make any sense to me, especially this particular part.

It's back-ordered, so obviously people want it. Additionally, considering the number of owners who bought them to upgrade, the usage history on the part should be fairly strong.

Sounds like the hot dog vendor who was told about the recession and stopped buying hot dogs. Sure enough, he went out of business.

GM still has about 150 of the left handles in satin.
I have some cores but I do these on an exchange basis so I'll need a core at some point to replace the one I have plated.

Or are you thinking to get a number of the satin one GM still has?

I called GM Friday about the Backorder of the left handles. They told me that they cancelled all my orders and they discontinued the handle.

I think with GM in hard times that all SSR parts still in stock you better buy now. It looks like if they run out of stock and with the suppliers going out of business the parts will just be discontinued. I hope I am wrong but this is what I think.

I wonder whats going to happen in the future when we can't get parts for our trucks. GM only made so many extra parts for these trucks and when there gone thats it. I doubt that anyone out there will spend the money to manufacture all the parts that we will need later on as our trucks begin wearing out. Its not like owning a classic car or truck where there's a market out there, since we have such a small number of vehicles. It would be terrible to have to park our trucks forever just because the part we need is nowhere to be found.

I can only imagine the cost of having to purchase 4 new chrome wheels just because one gets damaged beyond repair.

The rear wheel is 769.00 plus 50.00 core
It's all about how bad you want factory wheels.
Wait till all the window regulators are gone. They go up and down everytime you open up the door.
