Hi,
I think the LST ones are different from the OEM but I am only guessing. If you still have the OEM's please compare them. If they are the same diameter and length then "yes", if not, "no".

Water Spots

I'm having a terrible time removing water spots from my billit parts . I've tried all the different ways that have been suggested above, with varied results. The spots are still there. How the heck do others get the water spots off & keep them off ?

Mothers billet polish on a microfiber cloth is the best solution but if you have stubborn spots you might try a mixture of 50-50 water and white vinegar. This works well on hard water spots that are on paint and windows as well. Probably the best method is to place the solution in a spray bottle and mist the parts, rub it in and let stand for a short time and then rinse and wipe down. You may have to do this more than once. Make sure you use a good aluminum polish like Mothers or another product once the spots are off to preserve and protect the finish in the future.

To keep them off longer you can clear coat the items, but just like automotive paint, glass, stainless, chrome or any other part exposed to the elements you will still need to maintain them. Note that the clear coat will dull the shiny appearance a little.

I just occasionally wipe my parts down with Mothers about once a month and they stay nice all the time.

Was wondering if you sell the polished engine insert fror the SSR like the one in your photo? I have a 2006 Cobalt Blue and have never been able to find an insert in that color. I do have an Aqua Blur new in the box. Did you just take the paint off a normal one and then polish it or did you make this? Thanks, nice products by the way!

Hi and Welcome to the forum,
I do not sell the inserts but I would be willing to do yours if you didn't want to attempt it. I stripped the paint off one and polished the aluminum underneath so it looks like chrome. I have never seen an OEM blue, most likely GM did not make them in that color but you could always paint it or have it painted. If you could find a 2 or 3 touch up bottles at a good price I have an airbrush that I could use to paint it for you. I mentioned the touch up bottles because if you buy paint at a paint store they normally will mix much more than you need and the cost is rather high.

Good luck whichever direction you decide
Thanks for the compliment......

You must have real hard water to have tuff spots like that.

I use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean my airbrush. It gets all the smallest bits of paint out of the deepest holes.

You can get them at an jeweler’s stores or maybe even Wal-Mart.
( I paid $35 for plastic one)
Normally they are used to clean jewelry. Plug in wall, add cleaning solution, put parts in, and turn on. I believe you can get one big enough to do the caps one at a time. This might work for you.

I just received the Air Box Inserts from Mike and got them installed....another great addition to the other quality items he has offered SSR owners.

Mike--I do need to give my wife some idea as to how much more you are going to come up with and the estimated future costs.....she like to do some financial planning? (lol)

Thanks Again....Mike!

I am interested in some of your billeted item ,but I have a few questions.Your prices in post one are different from your prices in post #66. Do I assume that the prices in the newest post are the current ones?
You stated that the radiator overflow cover is now made by yourself, is it still the same as pictured in the first post?
Do you have an cover for the clutch tank and is the cap for the clutch tank included in the caps package, because we are interested in both of these?
Also, I am wondering if all of the items are now ribbed?
Thanks so much for your great products and we are ready to order some of the items from you, when you get a chance to answer our questions.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in my parts. In answer to your queries:

1. The prices and information in post #1 is always up to date. Prices were recently lowered and are up to date as shown in post #1. Sorry for the confusion but since post #66 wasn't made by me I can't edit it.
2. No, the radiator cover is not made by me anymore, the first few I made were less expensive prototypes to get buyer feedback. They were hand made by me and took way too much time to manufacture. These are now machined like all the rest of the high quality parts I sell as listed in the first post.
3. As posted, if you want another cover it will be an addition to the 5 cap advertised set. Any additional cap will cost you $22 per cap.
4. Lastly, yes, all of the items have ribbed edges or faces as shown in the images in post 1.

Thanks, Mike
