Engine Billet Items

Hi,
I have designed a few billet items for our SSRs. Please view the images below which show all the items and PM me for ordering information. Please note that the price you see listed includes shipping. When you contact me for an order please specify which method you would like to use (check, MO or Paypal (+3%)) so I know what information to provide to you in my reply. Thanks

ENGINE FLUID CAPS @ $110 (washer and brake seen in photo below) - Highly polished with SSR logo and ribbed edge. Custom built to fit snugly over the existing engine oil, window washer, radiator overflow, power steering and brake fluid caps. Note that the brake cover is sized similar to the clutch and the stock radiator cap will fit the Magnacharger tank. These additional caps can be ordered individually too. The window washer cap needs the strap and tab trimmed off to fit over the top, very easy mod and the cap is inexpensive and common to many GM cars if you want another one. These items attach with 3M automotive tape (not included) or another method of your choosing, clean all surfaces well before installation.

FUSE BOX COVER @ $40 - This high polished plate will fit neatly to all edges of the top of your existing fuse cover. This too is available with the SSR truck outline logo and ribbed lines to compliment the other pieces. Please note that the fuse cover has a slight bend to it and the billet cover is delivered with a similar bend to allow for easy installation. Please make sure you are satisfied with the bend before you apply it, some adjustment might be necessary and can be done by carefully pressing in the desired direction as the aluminum is rather soft. A rolled up soft towel may help to increase or decrease as necessary. This item attaches with 3M automotive tape or another method of your choosing, clean all surfaces well before installation.

BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR COVER @ $70 (lower right hand area of photo) - The cover wraps around the entire reservoir and has an edge that drops down around the edges about 1 inch that is machined to match the rest of the parts. This item attaches with 3M automotive tape (not included) or another method of your choosing, clean all surfaces well before installation.

RADIATOR OVERFLOW TANK COVER @ $45 - Please view the attached image below for detail. These are absolutely stunning and a great addition to the engine area. These have ribs on the horizontal area up to the bend angle, the angled face has the SSR outline to match the rest of my parts. Please insure that you check the bend BEFORE installing these as the bends are made by hand and shipping may cause some disturbance as well. This item attaches with 3M automotive tape or another method of your choosing, clean all surfaces well before installation.

AC LINE CAP COVERS @ $15 - These cap covers come in pairs and are placed over the existing black plastic screw on covers. One is located near the radiator overflow in picture below and the other is on the vertical line near the AC pump, both on left side of engine bay. They are grooved to match the reset of the engine parts. Please note, the AC caps are a very snug fit but please use an additional adhesive (glue, RTV, etc) to insure attachment. Remove the two caps by unscrewing them, dab some adhesive in the billet cap edge, then install the plastic cap into the billet cap and replace the new assembly onto the AC lines when adhesive dries.

REAR LIFT STRUT COVERS @ $35 - These billet tubes slide over the existing OEM factory struts for the rear hatch and lock into place with a 3/32 set screw. NOTE that you need to remove the struts and one fitting end piece to allow the cover to fit over the tube. You will need an additional person to hold the rear hatch up or use something to hold it because once you remove a strut the hatch will lower. To remove the strut, lift one metal retaining ring at a time on the plastic ends, and at the same time pull plastic ends away from the mounting tabs, repeat at the other end. I simply held the smaller center piston with pliers wrapped in a light cloth to prevent scratching and used an adjustable wrench to remove the end piece on the rod. They are not held on very tightly so it isn't difficult. Install the cover by centering on the strut, snug the set screw but do not over tighten to dent the metal casing, reinstall the plastic end piece and push the ends back on the mounting tabs for the hatch.

REAR STRUT BRACE COVERS @ $20 - These are two plates that will fit over the aluminum strut mounts on the lid. A nice part with alot of detail to hide the ugly bracket. See picture below.

AIR BOX STRIP INSERTS @ $45 - The inserts will fit into the 3 horizontal indentions in the OEM cover. These were very hard to manufacture but still they were made with detail in mind, each part has routed edges that really make them stand out!!! Absolutely fantastic! Please see picture below. I used 3M automotive tape cut in half to adhere the strips to the cover but a good silicone adhesive would be good too.

Prices include shipping. I am trying to keep a small inventory but these are custom built and orders will normally arrive to you anywhere from 2-4 weeks or so after I receive payment, depending on when your order was placed. The machine shop builds many parts and I have to work my order in with all the others. In your order, please detail what you want and include your screen name so I can update you on shipping.

PLEASE NOTE that I have only had 1 delivery issue with the USPS Priority mail, if you would like insurance please let me know. If you want me to ship via UPS instead, there isn't a problem, but they are often pricier and I will charge the difference from USPS. I will do what I can to insure your satisfaction but I am not liable for lost or damaged items, please request for and pay for insurance if you want to be on the safe side.

Billet SSR Items...

Mike got to have one of your new Billet Brake Reservoir Covers. I didn't know you had finished that project. Let me know how much to have Kim send !!! She should still have your address from the GREAT LOOKING BILLET FUSE COVER...

In fact, go ahead and put me down for the 3 other pieces you are currently working on. I don't know what the covers fit or "cover" but from the OUTSTANDING WORKMANSHIP on your other billet pieces, I'm placing my order now... as in pre-construction...

SSRHEARTBEAT

ps: cut some hay today and will be working on it again tomorrow after a trip to the Hydraulic Presure Hose Making Store. Always something. Still want to go, still have permission, just don't know yet. Will pm later. David

Mike:

Since I have the fluid cap covers with the smooth, not ribbed, sides, is the brake fluid reservoir available with smooth sides as well?

Alex, you of all people should be able to come up with a "inexpensive BLING fix" for that ...

David:

After seeing the ribbed versions of the fluid cap covers that Mike and you had, I'm almost wishing that I had those instead. But as fate would have it, Mike came out with the ribbed versions after I had already bought mine.

Some of mine cap covers fit on so snug, that I'll bet I could not get them off very easily, even if I wanted to remove them to make the change.

Alex,
Yes, you can order a smooth side version but regretfully there is no change in price. If I were you I would go ahead and get the ribbed brake cover, it adds a little extra "show" vs what I think a smooth one would and it would still look good with the smooth caps. I think you have the ribbed SSR logo fuse cover, it will match nicely. As far as removing the existing caps, I "upgraded" mine after driving around for awhile to heat up the engine, then used a small pry device (screwdriver) around the edges, the 3M tape released without issues for all of them.

The 2 tone alternator I did myself. I polished the front half and painted the back half with black crinkle paint. I like the look and get many compliments on it at car shows.

I might do a few now and then if someone is interested, if you can do without your toy for a few days, pay shipping both ways and can pay me a little for my time, PM me and maybe we can work something out.

Thanks for the info. Did you have to disassemble it?

The alt. bracket appears to be done w/ the black wrinkle?

Hi Mike,
Yes, I disassembled it for the polishing and yes there are several other parts that are coated with the wrinkle paint. I wanted to "hide" the background areas and make the painted and polished work stand out more.

Purchase Request

Mike,

I have already purchased the cap covers (w/SSR logo) from you and am very happy with the quality.

I want to order the BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR COVER. Please let me know how to pay the $80.

Can you reveal yet the additional parts you are working on? The reason I want to know (in addition to being curious) is so that I don't buy similar items from anyone else.

Finally, when you disassembled the alternator, does the housing split "clean", or are magnets/other parts attached to either half?

Hi Richard,
I will PM you my payment address again for the brake cover. The other items that I want to do are: radiator tank cover, brake booster cover and a plate for the area between the aircleaner and hood latch.

The alternator: I split the case but only took one half off, the side I polished. You can easily take everything apart but I didn't need to with what I did. If you take off the front pulley nut and pulley, then remove the 3 (I think) case screws the front plate half removes easily and leaves everything else there for easily reassembly. Then it's a matter of sandpaper, dremel tools and buffing until your happy.
