THIS IS A BULLETIN I JUST RECEIVED TODAY. 5-10-07 FROM GMSPO.
GMSPO RECOGNIZES THAT THERE ARE AVAILABILITY ISSUES ON A SPECIFIC NUMBER OF SSR PARTS. GENERAL MOTORS FULLY INTENDS TO MAINTAIN THE NECESSARY TOOLING,INVENTORY, AND STANDARDS OF SERVICE FOR THE REQUIRED TIME PERIOD TO SERVICE CHEVROLET SSR VEHICLES. FOR EXAMPLE, A SPECIAL WORKSHOP WAS RECENTLY CONDUCTED TO DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY TO ADDRESS THE AVAILABILITY ISSUES SURROUNDING THE SSR.
GMPSO CONTINUES TO WORK VERY CLOSLEY WITH IT'S SUPPLIERS TO OBTAIN THE MOST ACCURATE INFORMATION AVAILABLE REGARDING THE STATUS OF SSR PARTS ON BACKORDER. IT IS GMSPO INTENT TO RELAY THIS MEANINGFUL INFORMATION {ETA'S} TO ITS VALED CUSTOMERS WHEN LONG-TERM DELAYS ARE ANTICIPATED.
THE SPAC DEPARTMENTIS WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH ALL GMSPO STAFF AREAS TO RESOLVE SSR BACKORDER ISSUES WITH MINIMAL IMPACT TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION...........
THIS IS THE FIRST THING IVE GOTTEN IN WRITEING FROM GM ABOUT PARTS FOR OUR SSR'S. SO IM HOPEING IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS OR MOUNTHS WE SHOULD START SEEING OUR BACKORDERD PARTS COMMING IN.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR THERE UNDERSTANDING............MARK

Thanks for the update!
Perhaps as a goodwill gesture, GM/Chevy should offer up some sort of special service agreement that takes these delays into consideration, and provide discounted service prices as well...
After all - we are the owners/operators of a HALO vehicle!!!!

They should extend ALL of our warranty for the period of their delays.
i called the complaint line and told them that they had to make parts available for 10 years after the last ssr was made.they acted like they did'nt know what i was talking about.then i told the lady that it would be a shame if gm had to buy back all of the ssr's that were slod because they did'nt have parts.that got her attention a little bit more.she said she would pass the message along.that probably means she threw it in the trash.if other owners would start calling and tell them the same thing they might actually do something.

Well, I stopped in at the dealership today. I had some warranty items installed(door and bed seals) that were ordered a couple weeks back. I also had them look at my sticky speedo - which he said the speedo has to be replaced.
The service tech read me the bulletin that Mark posted, and he told me that he called back to ask about time lines to get the speedo. He was told that there is a small staff assigned to keep parts avail for the SSR, and that they have a warehouse full of SSR stuff that was recently consolidated from various locations that needs to be organized, but that they expect a 48 hour turnaround for parts.. Lets hope that they can stick to the timeframe...

Great service
I just got my SSR back from my local dealers service department. I had the speedo cluster replaced, both inside door handles replaced. The struts for the rear deck lid are replaced, and before they replaced the struts they even called to let me know that the fix was not compatable with my side saddle storage bins, which I never even use so I told them that was OK. My rear tailight would collect moisture after washing the truck so I had it replaced. And last but not least I had them replace the front air dam that fell off a couple of weeks back. The only remaining issue is that my running boards paint is wearing thin and you can see the white plastic in a couple of places on both running boards. They are waiting for parts for that. The personnel where great and they had the parts ordered and they were there within a week. They even gave me a loaner while they had my truck. So there are still good service departments out there! The dealer is in the Burleson, TX area.

Update - Speedo (Instrument Cluster) arrived at my dealership yesterday - so less that a week from the time the dealership called to part delivery! Not too bad... (Dang, there goes my excuse if I get pulled over for speeding and the speedo is showing 65 while standing still!)
My dealer actually (impressively) got a driver's side door handle replacement in 1 day! I don't know how, but it'll be nice to not have to roll down my window to get out of my SSR.
For those in NH, Banks Chevrolet in Concord has a good service department. I'm breaking the guys in to all the quirks of the , but they're coming along.
Parts have been a problem for the last year. My SSR has been in a accident last mothers day and still can't get parts. I have been waiting for the correct boe tie front emblem. Dealer said that Chevrolet has replaced it with a greenish gold looking thing. ?????? Sadd what has happened to Chevrolet. I have had it, asked my dealer to trade it for a new vette. The dealer said my trade was worth $19,000 Sadd Sadd Sadd
