I know we are all impatient, but he is getting close. Eric is a real class act, he could start selling stuff to us right now, but he wants be sure that quality and fit are perfect before putting his name on his products. I know he is working out some techincal details of the production of the chin spoiler so that they are perfect. It's looking like the chin spoilers will be ready soon.
Because Eric is so good at updating me and not giving me unreasonable deadlines or dubious promises, I don't mind at all waiting for his product to come out. He's a straight shooter, and a real professional. I know he'll come through. You know I can even hear the enthusiasm in his voice when he's talking about the products he's making and about our trucks, this is a guy we should all fully support.
I can't wait to showcase his work!

I beleive this spoiler was designed to prevent air from raising the car at high speeds and maintain traction control. How does the spoiler affect the air cooling circulation on this thing, we already know it runs hot.
Has any one done an airflow test to see if there any detrimental affects due to the change of air flow.

Besides installing the Chin-Spoiler, I'm adding vents to the sides of the hood. I'm planning on installing 3 to 4 vents on each side. This will give the air someplace to go as it is crammed into the engine compartment by the air-scoop.

Vents
Yes, it is along the lines that Buick has used for years, 3 vents for the V6 and 4 vents for the V8. I prefer mounting the vents to the side instead of the top of the hood - On the side I shouldn't have any significant water problem messing up the engine compartment and being on the side should also minimize the amount of engine air being sucked into the passenger compartment via the intakes at the base of the windshield. The only thing that I'm concerned about is getting through the double walled hood material that is in that area where I'm mounting the vents. That issue alone will probably dictate how many vents I end up installing. It sure gets warm in the engine compartment...

I saw those vents on an SSR posted here and on eBay a while ago...a lot of people didn't care for them, maybe just 'cause they do look exactly like the Buick, but I think they look good, I would rather have those than louvers...if they are, in fact, effective for removing heat (on the side of the hood).
My original idea was for a BMW M-Style vent (see pic), but, in retrospect, that might harm the smooth lines of the truck, even if you could make them narrow enough to fit in that tiny sidewall of the hood. Maybe I just like the extra chrome.

Hal here: I think the side vents look cool! But only three, four would be too
much! IMO.
Hello to all SSR fanatics.............................Just a FYI update regarding Erics chin spoiler....I communcated with him today.......he said they took three out of the mold......the third one seem to look the best,so he has to trim it then fit to make sure all is well................once he has completed that part of the process, production goes much smoother, so, Erics says! Patience is a virture and I
find myself looking all the time for my misplaced virtures!
It most definetly will be worth the wait Fanatics!!

Front spoiler update pics
I wanted to show some pictures of where we are at with the front spoiler and the machine that forms these parts. We have been doing some forming to dial in the process. Quite a few parts have been formed but not to any finished standards. The plastics company seems confident that they can work any problems out and get a nice part. I met with Richard (the plant owner) last Thursday and discussed changes to the mold that should help solve any issues. Feel free to ask ?s here and I will do my best to answer them.

Wow !
- Wow Eric, what do my eyes see -
Thanks for the update and photos. It's taken a while to get to where you are now and I, and others, want to thank you for having the patience that some of us here appear to have lost. Do you have a conceptual-drawing that you could share with us ?
