Need a Red Hood

I am purchasing a 2003 Red SSR from my sister in law. It was in a little fender bender and looks like the hood is bent, and the Chevrolet Hood Emblem Badge is missing and the signature trim piece that goes across the front and overlaps the headlamps. I will take a closer look when I get the car. I will get quotes from body shops, but also looking into the feasibility of buying parts. Anyone else been through this?

Eric at MPD1 has some pretty sweet hoods that I think look much better then stock. If I ever have to replace my hood that's where I'm going for it.

There is a RED SSR on eBay that is being parted out ... may have a good hood.

This link shows all the items listed as "Torch Red" (seller's description) from this SSR .Torch Red Chevrolet SSR 2003-06
Link to just the hood: Chevy SSR Red Hood
Link to ALL the SSR parts being sold by Pacific Motors: 2003-2006 SSR Parts at Pacific Motors

Good luck in finding a hood.

Cheers, Carl

I have three hoods that came as part of Floyd Bailey's estate. One of them is red from a 2004. It has a few "handling marks" from being stored at his shop in Tennessee and transported to Phoenix, but is straight and doesn't have any dents. I would let it go for $900, if you are interested.

When replacing a damaged hood, you need to scrutinize the hinges very carefully. It doesn't take a lot to "tweak" a hinge. We have seen a few lately that should have had the hinges replaced after a light accident in the nose....

Good luck with your project,

Mike

I really like my MPD scoop hood. I priced a new OEM one and it was $2,300 delivered.
