Recourse for non-performance by TommyZ

For those customers of TommyZ Design who have not received their orders after making payment, and have been unsuccessful in resolving your order issues with this company, it is recommended that you contact the following:

Mike Cox
Attorney General
State of Michigan
P.O. Box 30213
Lansing, MI 48909

Consumer Protection Division
(517) 373 1140
(517) 241-3771 FAX

I offer this information only because this method worked for me. I was eventually refunded money for my order which was never completed, once TommyZ Design was contacted by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Michigan.

Interesting that while he's disappeared from our site, he's very active over on the Chrysler 300 forum. Even has "sponsored " link there.

no apologies, just excuses

no, actually i got shorted first, he gave only a partial refund, and wrote back to the attorney general that he had paid me in full...I got a copy of his false claim of payment in full from the AG.......I had to send someone in person to pick up the balance for me, he told the collector he didn't have money, and had to borrow cash from one of his employees. ....a leapord doesn't change his spots, I guess.....

at least now if anyone else got cheated, they have a chance to get their money back, if not their actual parts ordered. good luck everyone....

IT WAS ONLY $20.00 THAT YOU WERE SHORTED,AND I WAS THE ONE WHO GAVE YOUR (COLLECTOR) THE MONEY.....AND I AM NOT A EMPLOYEE, PLEASE JUST LET IT GO,YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR $150.00 BACK, YOU DIDN"T HAVE TO GO TO THE 300C FORUM AND POST NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT TOMMY Z, HE WAS TRYING TO PUT OUT GOOD QUALITY PARTS FOR THE SSR AND WAS OVER LOADED BY THE ORDERS AND HIS VENDER THAT WAS MAKING THE PARTS COULD NOT KEEP UP TO FORFILL THE ORDERS IN A TIMELY MANNER......HE NEVER TRIED TO CHEAT ANYONE.

Not that you asked, but you are the one bringing it to the top twice in a row. Your first comment seemed to point to a shortage in the refund and a lie to the AG. I held my tongue on that one, but this one YOU asked for this. You should let it lie as well.

Where's my taillights, grille bar and grille mesh???? I've postponed the bodyshop appt 3x now. 9 emails from Tommy said that they have been sent. Last month they were PROMISED by Oct 5th for my Oct 8th appt and they were promised for FREE!

This has NOTHING to do w/ my X~Rodz taillights either!

I was directed to that 300 forum and read the thread. He's doing the same damn thing over there I see. I few parts go out, the receivers go Ooh, Aah, post some pix & the orders and $$$ fly in and then nothing. Hell, Susan is responding to some of them of the complaints, but it's the same excuses we all rec'd here. Too many orders and not enough time.

Oct 8th has come & gone......

I got a PM from TommyZ yesterday telling me that he can fill my order now for a chevron bar (top bar without bow tie) and a hood insert both painted once I send check or paypal, should I be concern about this now.

Being around this site for a few years make you the Pro????????I guess you are the Oracle----------And you can get your paint brush out and sling your crap all over the place..............I suggest that before you start spouting off......you inguage your brain.........Yes Tommy Z is a pain and has made alot of enemies in here......He's not on my good side either.............But throwing everybody else that makes and sells parts and peices in this forum, in the same boat with him is not smart either.........There are a lot of members that make some speciality parts......as I do........that are a small operation and do it as a hobbie........This is the way we do business........When I make parts .....I ship on or before the schedule date....most of the time , before.......There were a few times when I was bouncing in and out of the hospital......that I was a day or two late......It bothered me......But I think most people understood....... For you to pop off like this is a shame......and I take it personal!!!!!!!!!! And I imagine that a lot of others in here that do too.........Some may not want to bothered any longer to supply parts if they are painted with your brush..... My 2 1/2 cents worth, Wolfie Sorry for my rant.....but this struck me wrong...........

You gotta be kiddin. After all the negative comments here about people getting ripped off by this guy, I can't believe you are even thinking about dealing with him.

Buyer Beware!

That is the way I approach it. Anything I purchase from an individual on this forum, I do so based on the comments of others and weather I feel I can live with the possibility of getting burned. Comments and a MAN's word is sometimes the only thing we can base our purchase on. I currently have three items on order with forum members. One has not been able to ship ( order placed two weeks ago ) because of personal reasons and has not charged my credit card. One has been paid through paypal ( order placed one week ago ) and I have not received any emails from him as to when my product will be shipped. I will wait patiently for a reasonable length of time before I ask what is happening with my orders. I feel that these individuals are reliable, honest, and will deliver. Most all the individuals that sell items on the forum are honest. As far as TommyZ is concerned, based on what I have read, I will not order anything from him. Does not even sound like a nice guy to deal with. My 2 cents, not worth much....

From what I've seen here, I wouldn't buy anything from Tommy Z.

However there are many other GOOD vendors on this site.
Whitewolf has a very good reputation and quality parts. I sure wouldn't be afraid to deal with Whitewolf.

BTW wolfie, I am painting one of your wings now - nice work.
Except for the front spoiler that we are still working on my customers pay and we build it for them and they get their parts. When they ship they get a tracking # and I am almost always available by phone for anyone who doubts or needs to check the statis of their order.

there isnt one ssr family member here that i have taken there money and ran with it , there was a few cases that i was just unable to come through in a timely fashion because of problems with getting parts made. Has anyone ever had a problem with the quality of our parts ? , no. we put out the BEST parts on the market , yes I did have a problem before fullfilling orders in time , but everyone always got there parts and usually somthing else for free plus overnight shipping.

theres a few of you members that are able to sit in front of your pc all day and just rant and rave about other people , i for one am not. there isnt one person on any forum that will tell you i took there money and didnt return a product.

i bet if some of you guys had your business online and everything was out in the open you wouldnt look so dapper sitting on your soap boxes either.

exactly chuck , we sent him a refund for 130 and it was supposed to be 150$ , so i said no problem. There isnt any member on any forum that didnt receive what they were promised and then some, even the guys like him that try to ruin my name. i just want to get this in the open so everyone knows the truth.

unfortunatly there has been some orders that took way longer than they should but those guys got free hood inserts or even free grillles all together .

I want to make things right here, i am the last guy that would take money from somebody.

Tommy,

I know for a fact that MauiMike defended you, not tried to ruin your name.

A little communication goes a long way with customers - that and do what you say you're going to. Your name and reputation sell your business, or kill it.

If you had just been a little delayed and everyone got their parts there wouldn't be this much fuss. Your friends lashing out at the agrieved customers is counter productive. If you went to a restaurant and they made you wait 2 hours for your meal , "everyone always gets their food" wouldn't be saying much.Seriously make ammends with who ever you have let down and stop lashing out at unhappy customers is the better way to regain your reputation. If you are thinking you have tried to make ammends I would say there is more work to be done.

oh , no i know mike was a real supporter , im still the same guy he was defending , i havent changed. i hope him and i can still have a great freindship.
but ron was the guy really trying to throw dirt on me while i was down.
now im dusting myself off and weve turned things around , we got a new parts vendor that produces parts the day we need them , and still keep our high quality.

tz

we are building a SSR trailer and new LED smoothie bars, the reason we build this stuff is to enjoy your vehicle and the ups and downs of customizing it to your personality.

Good that you are trying , first step is to stop calling them liars

They are saying things as they see them , calling them a liar would not help even if were true. I have had to eat many humble pies in my business. When you step on somebody's foot you don't get to decide how they act. What you get to decide is not to step on peoples feet. I would contact everyone privately when this stuff comes up and not post negatively about still unhappy customers.

i understand , im not calling anyone liars , i just want to show the other members here im not a bad guy , i just was new at business and want to make everyone happy in the end . i know a few people had to wait longer than they should have , but i always gave them more than they paid as a token of apology. if i was a money grubbin person i wouldnt have fullfilled my end of the deal and i definitly would not comeback here to make things right with everyone. i have sent a few pms and i hope to talk with these members in person in hopes of clearing my reputation. thanks for the wisdom chuck.
