SSR Hood Emblem Stud Protection/Dress-Up:

I don't know about the rest of you, but I grew weary of banging my head on the 3 exposed threaded studs on the back side of the SSR "Chevrolet" hood emblem. Plus, I've always disliked the looks of the threaded studs themselves. (See post #18 of this thread for before and after photos.)

We'll I've come up with a solution that works for me on both counts. First, while this solution can't prevent you from hitting them with you head, nevertheless the blow and potential damage to your scalp should be substantailly minimized. Second, I believe that this solution dresses things up nicely.

If any of you are interested, I'm selling the set of 3 stud protectors for $12.00 to fanatics. The price includes shipping. What you will get is as follows:

1. Three (3) @ 1/2" long pieces of 3/8" diameter Taylor "Sho-Tuff" chrome split conduit.....the good stuff that doesn't flake or chip.
2. Three (3) chrome steel bolt caps with pre-glued in inserts forming a flush outer surface so that they are ready to be pushed on and screwed into place.

I've attached a close up photo of one of the installed assemblies. I've had mine on for about 1-1/2 months.

Send me a PM if interested.

Alex

Gorgeous dress-up item-High Quality

Fast mail even during Christmas...I got them 4 days ago and put them on in just minutes as your instructions are perfect. Actually these are the PERFECT touch Alex as I just replaced everything upfront exterior from satin to shiny chrome/StainlessSteel. I got the "Chevrolet" chrome grille piece and the spear covers with chromed 'billet' grille from Gary, vetteman69 and now have the best looking 06 Aqua Blur 6speed in the state of FLORIDA.
Great dress-up item but it really helps me already with the back of my head. I have torn off pieces of scalp/hair as I am 6'2"+ and not much room for a tall guy bending over...as you know so well Alex... All Fanatics should get this item from Alex

Owen,

Man, I guess you Texans really do still get your mail delivered locally via "pony express". Your set was the very first one that was mailed Monday of last week.....Christmas mail traffic or not, that's SLOW!

I'm glad that you like them. Thanks for being my "First Official Customer".

Thanks for the "honorary membership" to the "SSR ANONYMOUS" CLAN. Since we now live in an acronym crazed world, I'm either a member "of SAC" or a "SAC of" ......

Just got my stud head protectors and they look great under the hood. I have the chrome package so they are extra cool.

The hood liner also has the SSR in matching slingshot and red for the indentations from Doc.

Dick,

THANKS so much for posting the "before" and "after" photos. They're GREAT! That's what I should have done, but you've done it quite nicely for me. I edited my initial post in this thread to reference your post #18.

Alex - Received Stud Protectors 2-days ago as promised. Just took time to install and the instructions actually took longer. They add to one's SSR whether you have chrome or satin finishes. As others have said they look great and for the price can't be beat. Thanks!

Hmmm... I don't think Alex has a big head. It looks pretty much about the right size for his body. He is tall afterall.

So... where did you get that impression? Not having a happy new year?

It's better to have a big head then someone with a big mouth who talks out the rear.
