Chevy Club e-Mail

Received an e-mail from my Chevy Club Connection in regards to the 100th B-Day of Chevy....here is part of that e-mail..............

Quote:
So far, here is what I know: in 2008 GM will be celebrating their 100th, 2011 Chevy will be celebrating their 100th. I have spoken with our Page Ranking department
and he is getting back with me on any events that will be taking place.
As promised more to come!

Bad timing with the Niagara Falls Run and WDC right around the dates for this event. Flint is only an hour from my home.....I may have to take a ride and join in on the parade Looks like all events take place from July 11-19th.

100th

I know from trying to attend FORD (i known-I know) 100th and Corvette 50th (Louiville) you have to plan way ahead to get a Hotel and other arrangements made- go for it. With all the vette, Chevelle, Camaro, etc it will all go fast. i know the 94-96 Impala's are going-along with the vette's

I have several friends who are Chevrolet fans that are going
I hope we can take over a Hotel just for the SSR Fanatics.

This will be an event for a Lifetime and since we have a National Rally every two years-this could be it for 2011.
2007- Springfield
2009- Texas Hill County
2011- 100th Chevrolet

100 years of Chevrolet would no doubt be very fun, all the Corvettes, El Caminos, Chevy IIs ??? It would definitely be a time for rebirth of a once mighty company, with hopefully some interetsing new models including a C7 Vette?? Sounds intriquing.

Maybe they will be like Harley" s 100th and have parties in various places so all the Chevrolet fans could participate. L.A., New York, Dallas, Atlanta and of course Bowling Green with the grand finale in Detroit. ( who knows maybe Bob Seger could come out to play , " Like a Rock")

Just don't get Elton John to be the mystery guest!!! ( That's a Harley joke)

I agree with 1pirate that it should be our National Rally for 2011. Let's just hope GM is still around in three years.

Your post got me thinking about all the songs that were about or chevys were mentioned in the songs. Like American Pie, 409, Shut Down, Chevy Van, it would be interesting to see how many songs we could come with?
