2006 Woodward/Picnic Photo's and Follow Up
I saw a post where there has been to much confusion on the WDC weekend posting. I will re-enter my photo's on this thread shortly. I will then begin uploading photo's of the picnic as well.
So if we can all start uploading in this thread....everyone else may be able to find photo's they would like to keep.
SS My R (Glenn): Nice shots buddy! It was great walking all the way to the Triangle with you and the guys. My knees are still sore! Lots of cool stuff along the way for sure.

Gina dressed like Marilyn Monroe.......locked out of her SSr.......and looking pretty good I might add..........
Gina Mitchell, 42, of Maggie Valley, N.C., came to the events in her 2004 Chevrolet SSR dressed like Marilyn Monroe. She had locked her keys inside the car, but a good samaritan used a coat hanger and after 20 ninutes of work, (got) the door open. "I put on my blonde wig for the day," said Mitchell.

The weather was just beautiiful sunny skies and 70 degrees We had clowns for the children along with craft tables set up. The grill that the local 1618 brought in had chevy bow ties on the grill handle and SSR rims and tires on the wheels of the grill.
Special thank you to JACKWALDROP for taking my camera and getting these photos for me. I had no time to take any.
Below are pictures of the prize tables and the Make A Wish Foundation that the Local 1618 Supports thru out the year.

Many brought passing dishes to share which made the food menu so much more tastier Rotating in different shifts to keep the food a grillin Everyone pitched in to help get things off the ground.
I was not able to mingle with anyone except Janet from ASC for a little while. I sure hope that many of you had the chance and if you did please give us some feedback on your conversations.
Time flew by and so the baseball game never got off the ground nor did a volleyball game.............maybe next time!

I've been so busy over the last two months and now posting pictures for the picnic. My husband is outside chatting with my son and the phone rings. I answered it only to hear from my husband I Love You Talk about someone who is understanding and allows me to do the things I do......it can't get any better then that!

Super Special Return Wrap-Up
Well it’s over and I am now settling back in to my everyday life. Here are a few of my thoughts about the picnic.
My disappointment was the amount of persons that showed up, but very thankful to those that did!. The weather was perfect and I had hoped to see much more of the SSR Development Team /LCC and ASC employees there. Food was over bought as it was impossible to determine the amount that would show. I felt so much better when many took home food to their families.
I have learned a lot and will be changing many things for the up and coming years. I spoke with many that would like to see this be a every 2 to 5 year reunion instead of an annual one. This will be something we can vote on in the future.
In general it really was a wonderful day and having had the chance to meet some of the LCC/ASC employees was a real treat! I know that from the three ASC employees, Darla, Janet and Julie that they were overwhelmed by what we had done for them, and many of the LCC employees as well.
Thank you to all of you for making this event so special! Till we meet again…….stay safe, happy and healthy and enjoy the photo’s. This was a learning experience for me and I gained a whole lot of life, love and happiness!!!!!

Super Special Return T-Shirts
I had ordered extra Super Special Return T-Shirts after placing our regular order.
Everyone of the LCC & ASC Employee's recevied one from the money we raised.
I have a few x-tra's but haven't had time to go thru the boxes yet. I will be selling these off to those that would like one.

I was one of the SSR fanatics that talked to Debbie about the picnic. I told her I thought that throwing this picnic for the employees was a great idea for this year. My feelings were that it was a ton of work on her and that she should not put herself through this every year.
But, we should still do WDC, just not the big picnic every year. If she wants to throw the picnic and thank them again, well thats her perogative.
Personally, I would like to see Debbie have more fun at the WDC and enjoy the event more.
