I finally got myself organized. I put my pictures out on my web site and created index pages this time so it's easier to view everything.
I also scanned the newspaper articles from the Free Press and State Journal. (thanks to Chris - Devastator for providing them to me) I know that Debbie posted the electronic links, but you never know how long it'll be until they pull the stuff to make room for more recent "news".
I still have to get my second video pulled off. I'm also a bit leary about putting that up as I know it'll trash our bandwidth for quite some time. Sadly, the video I took of the run from the picnic to the factory did not turn out as my video heads choked up and caused the video to break up ( plus, no audio).

But, we should still do WDC, just not the big picnic every year. If she wants to throw the picnic and thank them again, well thats her perogative.
Personally, I would like to see Debbie have more fun at the WDC and enjoy the event more.
I can speak on the above subject with some personel experience. I worked at a now closed GM plant in Kalamazoo and transfered to Grand Rapids, Michigan a little over 10 years ago. Even thou I was offered to continue my employment with GM, the first year after was not a favorite time I relish. Maybe we should think of the picnic as a party for us SSR owner's. The memories of their job loss at the LCC may have been a little to fresh in there minds to celabrate a get together at this time.
Just my 2 cents on the above subject.

I have mixed emotions in regards to this issue. Mike in AZ and I talked about this today on the phone.
A couple of things to keep in mind….
Just as in any reunion the longer you wait the harder it will be to keep in touch with many of these employees.
I had several of the LCC employees say that the ones who didn’t show missed a really nice time. Of these same employees they also said that once word returns back to those who didn’t show that many will come next year.
Yes it was difficult to tell exactly where we stood, but I don’t think it was a loss and I know we touched many for the good.
Yes for this year it was a lot of work…but went smooth anyway. If we do it again for next year…..it will be even smoother as I already know what to expect.
I’m sure that this was a difficult time for many of the LCC/ASC employees not only because of job loss but also job placement. Michigan’s economy is at it worst with unemployment at the highest it’s been in 25-30 years.
Do we wait? Or is it best to continue next year??????
My thoughts......don't loose what we already started!
(I will be placing a call to Sue Figel within the next few days to get some feedback)

Wildcat and I met for lunch today and she gave me my sailor cap with all your signatures on it. Thanks to everyone who signed it for me. It is a keepsake I will proudly display with my SSR memorabilia. Wish I had been there, but this is almost as good.

No....Jim just finally had time to let me know he had a great time. This was the first time I heard from him since the WDC weekend. I received many PM's from members wanting to know if he made it home safely and to thank him for the dinner.

This was a very touching award where Jack had won the Long Distance Award in memory of BoBA by using his original gas cap. Jack pocketed a little extra cash for the ride home and a very special gas cap that went on his SSR as well!

Pictures were being taken from all directions. Janet (ASC) is inside my SSR with me HotRodGirl as we were getting ready to head out to the LCC Building. WearyEagle (Gary) was taking photo's as well.
