there doesnt appear to be much interest so far for being in the HRPT as a group of ssr fanatics. is anyone interested besides fuzzy, gipper and myself ? is anyone even thinking about it ? too early ? last year , i met about 12 fanatics as they came thru illinois. i know some of them have already said they would not make it for this year's HRPT. since this will be my first HRPT, i was hoping we would have a bunch of participants.
I did it last year, and I was with the group that you joined in with.
For me the Power Tour is one of those things that are nice to do once.
But being the same route in reverse of last year and the cost involved the value is not there for me. Maybe if they did a route 66 I might do it again.
A smaller group might be an advantage, start, stop, eating choices.
I missed Maggie last year because I could not do both it and Power tour and I really missed Maggie.
Maggie is much more enjoyable for me and can’t wait for it this year.
Marty and I have done the power tour 5 times. It was more fun before it got so large. Last year it was so unorganized that the only good thing about it was being with the SSR people. We are not going this year. I know alot of the first timers were disappointed last year. We have decided to do more SSR events this year instead of all the local car shows that we usually do. We would also like to do an SSR Rt. 66 cruise.

I'm sorry , but Marv and I feel the same way as Marty and Dee, and Ed. The tour is just the reverse of last year and we really would like to be able to do more with the SSR group. If they decide to do the 66 route next year, I know that we would be going.

The 2 HRPTs that I've done were both a blast (even accounting for the organization snafu of last year), but in order for me to do it this year, I'd need to block out 2 weeks (3 days out + tour + 3 days back). Add to that that fuel costs are skyrocketing, and I really can't justify it this year. The hotel bills alone would be huge.
Also, I was really hoping a friend was going to have his '66 Caddy ready for the tour this year so we could go together. So far, that doesn't look likely to happen.

I won't be participating this year either. It was something I wanted to do once. This year I will be taking the family out west at that time. Longer tour but without the SSR.
Also can someone tell me the names of the couple that join us from Mi. They drove a black/silver and I believed she work for Gm. My son is soon done with the video of last years tour and I can't remember their names.
Thanks
Doug
