2010 Penticton Peach City Beach Cruise

June 24 - 27, 2010

We have 7 SSRs from Arizona and California coming in 2008, but with the dates for the Texas run in 2009 overlapping the Beach Cruise, we are planning to scale back the 2009 SSRs at the Beach Cruise to be a smaller northwest regional event for those unable to make it to Texas for THE BIG ONE..

I believe the discussion in the past year has been to hold a national rally every two years.

Is it fair to assume that 2010 will be an off year?

If so, the 2010 Penticton Peach City Beach Cruise could be a very strong and well attended western regional event. I have no illusions that we would see any Florida or Georgia Fanatics make it all the way to the west coast, but crazier things have happened.

After all, if Fuji could make it all the way from San Diego to Maggie Valley, Copacetic Chris, Marc NY and Hot Rod Girld could lead convoys this far.

It's a beautiful area to visit, and hopefully the reports after the 2008 event will bear that out. We're blessed with beautiful clean lakes, orchards, vineyards, wineries and mountains.

I have had a few PMs recently from Fanatics thinking of coming to Penticton next year, but I don't want to have the event compete with the Texas rally, so would rather aim for 2010.

Any thoughts?

Please post a note on this thread if you would be interested in coming so we can get an early start on accomodations.

I like your idea, and as far as I know we have discussed the interNational Rally being every 2 years. I would love to come to your event in 2010

That would be awesome!!!! Right now, you're leading the pack for long distance award.

So.... will you be in charge of rounding up the Texas contingent??

This is only a list of definite maybes this far out - changes and cancellations are OK.

And how about you and Iris? Will you be heading up the B.C. contingent to Texas next year? It's in my dreams that we could make it. But I figure we'd need two + weeks. In that case, I would have to drive solo while Wayne stays home and works, then he would fly in for the party. Afterwards he'd have to fly home to catch up on work and I would return in the SSR. I would only do this if I were traveling with other SSR's. Oh yeah, I haven't told Wayne my idea yet

I'd love to, but I made a commitment to handle registrations for the Beach Cruise, and it's the same weekend as Texas.

That information is on a need to know basis, and Wayne doesn't need to know at this stage, any more than Iris needs to know about the mods on the two tone.

Glad to see you are doing this Ray. Since we had to cancel Penticton this year I was really looking forward to 2009...then came along Texas

I think I'll start a list now - nothing like getting a head start on planning.

You'll still have the opportunity to cancel over the next 25 1/2 months.

I think we will get a pretty good turnout - lots of time to arrange days off.

Yup - that's our Sandy. Always working out devious plans, and getting Wayne to think he thought of it.

Wayne still thinks the Corsa exhaust and moulded running boards were his idea.

Maybe Sandy's on to something - sure wish I could get that to work with Iris.

Maybe explain to me how I can get a supercharger using Sandy's system.

Ray, I have saved these dates on my calendar. We've been missing a trip UP North for a long time. We'll have to take extra days to roam the area, too. Looking forward to
being there in 2010.

Ray.........................Lloyd and I are planning on attending in 2010. The drive up north is beautiful and the Lake Penticton area is so scenic. It's a great opportunity to meet the northwest fanatics!

I've been out of touch the last while. Our boat company dealer meeting took some time to prep for in late November, working on the house whenever possible, just got a new grandchild, and got organized to run away to a warmer spot for a few days.

Landed in LA yesterday, boarding the Sapphire Princess this afternoon for a week. With weather the way it was, flights were an unknown, so didn't contact any LA Fanatics just in case we got stuck in a snowstorm in Vancouver. It all turned out OK, so rented a car, and checked out the Santa Monica Pier, Rodeo Drive and a couple of other areas last night. It got downright chilly once the sun went down.

I'll start getting organized for 09 when I get back, and start lists for both 09 and 2010. Rooms are booked at the Lakeside, but I need to get the group number from them when I get back.

OK - that's too weird. I was looking at this thread about a half hour ago, thinking it was time to start a new thread with all the info. Coming soon!!!!

I've got 80 rooms booked at the Lakeside for 2010.

By the way - we're up to 15 SSRs for 09 and a couple more coming for sure but not registered yet, but no Sandy and Wayne. What would a party be without them?
