We might be able to offer a day trip to Meteor Crater, then on to Winslow, south to Happy Jack, then north through Mormon Lake and back to Flagstaff.

I need to make the run prior to deciding on this, as I'm guessing it would be a 5-7 hour trip, including points of interest, lunch and shopping. Very scenic, but that's a lot of seat time.

Regarding the Sedona Pink Jeep tour -

Bigwave hosted a weekend in Sedona a while back, and a bunch of us went on the Pink Jeep Tour, what a hoot! Scenery that you can't believe, and the laughter from everyone (especially Mikey's Squeeze, Mike in AZ's wife Debbie) could be heard for miles!

I highly recommend this trip for everyone!

I'd would love to do it but ... now that you guys have done that, would you recommend it for those like me with lower back problems? I'm guessing no but just checking with those who have done it.

Based on my experience, I'd say that if a member has back or neck injuries or problems, don't do this.

It's a lot of fun, but it is bumpy, and we do not want anybody to worsen an existing health issue.

Good idea. I'll research fares and durations.

I've done this before, and in my opinion, it is more scenic than the Grand Canyon Railway trip, but it doesn't have the Grand Canyon at the end.

We'll also be posting info on the Arizona Snow Bowl, which is the local ski run area. A great drive 20 miles or so from the hotel, with spectacular views.

The ski lifts to the top only operate Friday through Sunday after Labor Day.

Is this thread going to have a Registration Form or do we make reservations on our own?

Thinking specifically of the Grand Canyon train but some others might be appropriate as well, not sure.

I'll post a registration form for the Grand Canyon Railway, and any other special events that require advance reservations and payments (like, oh, say the Pink Jeep Tours, bus transportation, or the Verde Valley Railway) in the future as we get feedback from attendees.

The sooner we get feedback on interests, the sooner I'll post registration forms for those special events.

With regard to the Scenic Runs, I'll post a sign up sheet for the individual events.

I know we'll have to go to the south rim of the G.C. for sure. A bus ride to get there would be fine/fun.
A cruise to Montezuma/Camp verde/Sonic sounds great.
and the Verde Valley train if that goes.

Sandy & Wayne -- I cannot imagine you NOT taking the Jeep Tour! It is great fun and a wonderful way to see the canyons.

Take the Jeep Tour! Dwayne makes sure it is the best one.
