We are having a blast. The cruise last night was a ton of fun as usual. Tight corners, speed, power, 6sp, what's not to love!!
We had a bit of drama where our fearless leader (Flassh) almost turned the front of his SSR into a "cattle catcher", having to lock up in order to avoid a deer that darted out in front of him. I was three back and it almost appeared to go over his hood. I thought it looked like one of those rare "silverback" deer.
We heard Nathan (xscash) further back in the pack almost contributed another venison BBQ.
Some of us leave early this afternoon to DRAGN's summer place in Merritt for a BBQ which I am sure will be a fun time. Then alas, goodbye's and return home later tonight.
I am not so hi-tech as Dwight so pictures will have to wait.

Off to Merritt today as Cash said and then tomorrow I will heade to Jasper, AB. Not sure about internet connections. In Penticton the hotel has had good wireless but I will be playiing as it goes on this trip since 4G is not available here and "Roaming access" is in the $2 per MB which I just cannot afford. Be back on when I can

As I go through my pictures I realize how obvious it is that I did not attend the LT School of Photography. Anyway, here are a few.
1. This COE motorhome had some remarkable craftsmanship. I believe it won the People’s Choice Award.
2. Very cool 1946 Greyhound. The rear windows reminded me of the opening scene from The Fugitive, setting out on his quest to look for the one armed man.

Froster Girls
Very attractive and pleasant young ladies. When I saw the VIN was 19902 I was pretty sure I would find it was a former Nextel Parade truck and that VIN in particular was familiar to me. When I got home I have confirmed that indeed it was a Nextel and was formerly owned by “sparky” in Calgary. The VIN was familiar as I had a couple of conversations with Sparky in the past about it. I was unaware he had sold it though.

’53-54 Ford caught my eye
The ’49 Buick was modified somewhat but body and interior all original. Very nice
This truck really got a lot of attention. Pretty cool

Coral and black on some mid '50's cars is very striking! I like this combination better than the reverse on the '55 in the previous post, but both looked nice.
This Charger and a '61 Buick that I will try to find got the Cash "Sounding Nasty" awards! They sounded awesome!
This truck was about as gold as you can get in a colour.
Isn't it funny how we used to think the '68 Chev was one of the uglier cars on the planet? Hmmmmmm.
I think this was Guy Cabalero's brother Buck's car. (Actually a Buick Cabalero, never heard of it before)

Our spot for the car show at the park on the lakeshore.
That would be John's supercharged in the foreground with the lovely "Kate" in the background garnering all the attention!
Just kidding as 1 Bad SSR CDN is a very pretty truck!
Flassh's tutone, turnheadz tutone, BigGuy's tutone and SSRLou's Slingshot.
Lining up for the parade.

Yes, I really liked that car but could not locate the email you said you sent with the pictures. I have such a muddle of emails to sort out that it could have gotten lost in the shuffle. I can copy them off your post now anyway.
Here are a couple of Peter & Cindys old limo.
I took the shot of it behind the gazebo because for some reason it reminded me of a scene from the end of an old Bette Davis film where she was taken into custody at the beach when her limo had been spotted.
I was overtired. It was not Betty Grable, but a Bette Davis film - "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane".

Reason: Tired - not Betty Grable - Bette Davis

Nice Pix all around.
Thanks Moody.
Your guess sounds real close I would think. That truck must be bagged otherwise you might have to drop the entire rear end if you had a flat.
Here is the '61 Buick I forgot to post that I liked a lot. The '61 Buick is a car that has really grown on me over the last few years.
I got a charge out of this little rod. It's REALLY loud dumping it straight off the manifold but he can drop it down into another 3 foot pipe so its just really loud!
Truck somewhat akin to yours Moody.
Cool COE.
Real nice "sort of" woody wagon.

I found another section that was somewhat remote from the main bunch of cars.
They had some pretty cool stuff, but I only took a few shots.
The first 2 are "Diamond T's" as I recall. I had not heard of them before.
#3 - Just a very cool truck.
Not sure what #4 was.
They brought this in for the day from active duty from our Canadian Army.
Our other truck had to stay available and ready for action.

A few SSR Pics from Penticton
Here are a couple of pics of the Macs Store SSR; they have 3 (1 in BC and 2 in Alberta) As you can see Cash is busy getting the VIN Numnbers... just before getting the drivers licenses of the girls....
Lined up for the parade through town
Worked hard this past winter trying to get the "R" up to snuff... to tell the truth, it was still not anywhere close to being in the condition that almost all of the other ones there were in... VERY IMPRESSIVE!

The Casion in Merrit
Peter and Cindy were terrific hosts (and cooks) as they treated the SSR crew to a wonderful BBQ....
Here, they arrived at the show on Saturday in style in their 1948 (?) Chrysler limo...

Opening Dinner in Summerland
Ray hosted a great meal in Summerland. Here are a few pics of some of the attendees.... The Edmonton folks (the tired looking ones) did a 12 hour marathon run to get there in time...Can't say enough about the hospitality and friendliness shown to us and the other newbies by all of the other members in attendance there!
I still think it was some kind of trick or recording, but CASH (Dale) got up and recited all of the VIN Numbers for every SSR in attendance at the dinner, No kidding!
Here are Kelly & Nathan, two of the long distance marathoners with their lovely wives...
It was especially nice to meet Blue Streak (Dwight) on the left below, and Mark (Jester) from Washington.. a kindred spirit to CASH for SSR details and information.
