Lightbulb Bus Tours for Nationals

Hello Fellow Fanatics,

We have had some great responses to the Bus Trip Option for the Nationals.
So here are the details and your opportunity to sign up.

I will contract the busses in groups of 50.
Please sign up as early as possible. We need to set up the busses ASAP before they start booking for the year.

First Bus excursion.
Cranberry Mansions
Tuesday June 25, 2013
8:30 am Leave the Sturbridge Host hotel and travel to Southern Coast of Mass.

You will have one 20 minute rest stop along the way.

10:45 am Take a BEHIND THE SCENES CRANBERRY BOG TOUR.
You are welcomed to the largest cranberry operation in the world at the height of the blossom season!
You will be greeted by an experienced grower who will step on your coach and take you out to the bogs so you can see the blossoms up close.
Each tour is given a history of cranberry making, find out how the cranberry got its name, see examples of existing bogs as well as learn about all aspects of cranberry growing.
It is possible that you can get out and step onto the bog yourself.
The guide also goes through the two different methods of harvesting.
Since it is near spring you might see the flowering vines and may even be able to see some bogs being planted.
The highlight of the tour will be to see and hear about the SPRING BOG POLLINATION by bees brought in to do the job!
There are 2 hives per acre and there are 2000 acres!
Did you know they hire bees, which get flown in and pollinate the bogs? The bees fly into their hives every night and then back out during the day to pollinate!
When they are done, all the bees get collected up and flown to some other place to start the pollination cycle all over again.
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Overstuffed sandwiches of all kinds for lunch on your own at a Market Peace Farm located on the groups of the bog.
“The market offers a variety of items, including cranberry-themed gifts and foods, produce, crafts, and a full deli and bakery. The Market offers lunch daily and many fresh baked items for your group to enjoy.” Quote excerpted from internet site.

1:00 pm Travel to Newport.

2:00 pm Arrive Newport and meet your guide for the NEWPORT MANSIONS DRIVING TOUR of TEN MILE OCEAN DRIVE and along the sea where the most famous of the “American Aristocracy” had built there splendid summer palaces.

3:30 pm BREAKERS MANSION TOUR. “This 70-room estate was built by leading American architect Richard Morris Hunt for Cornelius Vanderbilt II, patriarch of America’s wealthiest family. Its interiors include rich marbles and gilded rooms, with open-air terraces offering magnificent ocean views.”

5:00 pm Travel back to the Sturbridge Host hotel.

You will have a 45 minute dinner stop on the Mass Pike at a rest area on the way home.

8:00 pm Arrive at Sturbridge Host hotel.

PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Luxury motorcoach transportation
Cranberry Bog Tour
Lunch on your own at Tihonet Village Market

Breakers Mansion
All applicable taxes and gratuities

There are so many fascinating stories to hear about! Learn about the different districts of the city including the Back Bay where you find so many beautiful brownstones, each with its own unique architectural design. You will also see Beacon Hill and the gold domed state house, Boston Common, America’s first public park and the Public Garden. You of course can’t miss seeing the Old Statehouse, once headquarters for English governors and later the site where the Declaration of Independence was read to the waiting citizens of Boston. There are 100 shops, carts and artisans to offer treasures for you to take home with you!

HARVARD YARD TOUR, or Hahvahd Yahd as the locals say it! Cross the Charles River to the city of Cambridge and HARVARD UNIVERSITY. Your guide offers you insight about this Ivy League University and the students who go there.

USS CONSTITUTION OLD IRONSIDES TOUR. “Located in the Charlestown Navy Yard, the USS Constitution was launched in Boston on October 21st, 1797 and is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world.
Today, she is manned by an active duty U.S. Navy Crew.
The USS Constitution Museum, a private, non-profit museum, includes a theatre, historical artifacts, interactive exhibits and a gift shop.
The Museum brings the USS Constitution’s tale alive by collecting, preserving and displaying over 3,000 original artifacts.
Quote taken from Boston/Cambridge Official guidebook 2005.

Another Bus

Looks like the bus trips are filling fast !!! ,..
Once we get over 55 people, I will order another bus..

Remember,.. seats are unlimited for now.
So sign up as early as possible so I can accomodate anyone that wants to go. The bus line is offering coaches first come first serve. It will get harder to get them after the first of the year.

Thank You

Wild Bill

Thumbs up Boston Bus Added

Looks like we got us a convoy.........

Another bus has been added to the Boston Experience.

I dont think we'll have a problem filling it within 7 months...
BUT If we need a 3rd bus,. I will need to know by the end of January.
Please sign up as soon as you decide you want to go.

Both options are a full day of New England adventure.
You will be back in time for each night of planned Ball room events.
