skiied the river many times myself on Christmas Day...some years in wetsuits, some years in bikinis...........it was always beneficial to be able to make a beach start and landing as well as remain on your skis without falling in...we would try to make it from Needles to Bullhead

(no, Gary, not my house for pancakes)
Randi, I don't know the name of the hotel, but its at 1984 East Main St. in Barstow. I think the first off ramp after the I-15 separates into the I-40 ? ? ? Go under the freeway and its on the left. Any help ? ? ?

Looks like we will miss you in Dodge on Saturday, Denny. Maybe I can talk Lori into going a little further south on Saturday and meet up with the CAL/AZ contingent for the haul into Missouri Sunday....

Gary That sounds about right to me. This restraunt El Falcone, does it have a good breakfast? I like a nice omlett in the morning some times, or fench toast, Phyllis isn't much a big breakfast eater. See you Friday evening .

Should we get reservations for Big Texan for dinner on Saturday night.
Leave Winslow 7am... 8 hour drive.... 1 hour time change..... 1 hour lunch....1/2 gas stop...... We should arrive around 5:30pm... should we make dinner reservations for 7:00pm? How many will we be? I will call and make the reservations. If someone else is already doing this, let me know, and count me in!
Ok, if we leave at 8:30 we will get there around 7:00.. I'd rather leave earlier.. would rather have eating time in Texas! my .02

As I see it Vix:
From Arizona - Mike in AZ (2) and Blue Eyes (2)
From California - kwhopper89 (2), autodan (2), Vix (1), DMW (1), me (1)
From Colorado - Jwthomp (2)
From Kansas - kart3d (2)
I count 15 . . . maybe reserve a few extra (just in case)
I have no preference for specific travel times (in previous posts I was just "suggesting" them). I can roll anytime. It really matters not to me. This also applies to breakfast location, etc. I'll just go with the flow.
(when traveling long distances, I prefer to hit the road before breakfast armed with coffee only, then stop somewhere within a couple of hours and eat breakfast. This may be quite difficult, however, in the Arizona and New Mexico deserts as breakfast "stopping" points may be few and far between)

I'm taking the bull by the horns! I made reservations at the Big Texan for 7pm Saturday night... for 20 people, based on Gary's count. If you are not going to dinner with us and you are in the count, please let me know so I can reduce the number!!! Thanks!

No room at the inn...
It looks like the Big Texan is booked up for Saturday night, and Lori and I missed out. The clerk did say we should call back in a couple days to see if there were any cancellations - otherwise we will try to find lodging elsewhere. I think we're still on for dinner, though! It's late - I'll look for a room elsewhere tomorrow.

Packing
Well we started to get packed this morning. Got all the detail and cleaning stuff together for the truck. Getting the suitcases out tonight. We are getting real anxious about getting on the road. Looking forward to seeing the old friends and meeting some new ones. We will be seeing some of you in Winslow, everybody drive safe and get to Springfield in good shape.
