Jim I have a pin from the goody bag, and it's yours.

The tour was short,
We saw the heads being assembled and torque. Pans going on. Heads to the block, all the way to a complete engine.
They cold test the engines by pumping air in them and reading many sensors attached
to them.
Except the Vett manual engines they are hot tested with propane. We watched them hot test a few.

I was surprised to hear they do not inspect any supplier parts coming in. This plant expects 100% perfect part from their suppliers. If a test motor has a problem the whole run is pulled and shipped to a third party for tear down and inspection. Any
faulty part is returned to supplier and all expenses involved is on there shoulders.

Piston specs are held to with in 8 microns.

I was able to talk to the quality top dog while following the yellow brick road through the plant. Our LM4 where built there also, and he was telling me the LM4 are closer to the LS6 than the LS2. The new LS9 for the Vetts are considered a blueprinted engine do to the tight specks and testing.
This is the guy who nods to engine replacement under warranty.
He told me after 3 warranty engines to one lady he did some investigating and found she was a weekend drag racer, no number four coming.

The factory is much better laid out, quieter, temp comfortable, then my food factory.
(The section we seen)

A good mix of men and women on the line.

One of the keys to having a good build I was told is having the same person doing the same job every day. They can develop a feel a smell a sense if there is a problem with part fitment.

I took a few when I first got there, and then forgot to take more after everyone was set up.

Hey guys, I want to thank you all for taking the time and making the effort to attend our event especially under the poor weather conditions in the morning, but it did turn out to be a great day! Your participation was very much appreciated!
