The stops have been anounced for the 2008 Hot Rod Power Tour.

I have not seen a venue list yet but will keep looking.

Mileage is approx from previous day to curent day location, depending on route we take.

Saturday June 7 Little Rock AR (likely Barton Colliseum) (JVL to LR 726.47 mi.)

Sunday June 8 Springfield, MO (LR TO SPRNG 219.01 mi.)

Monday June 9 Topeka Kansas (SPRNG TO TPKA 236.82 mi.)

Tuesday June 10 Lincoln, Nebraska (TPKA TO LNCLN 161.81 mi.)

Wednesday June 11 Ames, Iowa (LNCLN TO AMES 221.41 mi.)

Thursday June 12 Rochester, MN (AMES to RCHSTR 214.67 mi.)

Friday June 13 Madison, WI (RCHSTR to MDSN 194 mi.)

Saturday June 14 Madison to home 45 miles (optional party and cook out, party and bonfire at Fuzzy's place, before everyone heads the rest of the way home.)

Round trip approximation (excluding dinner out etc.) 2040 mi.
Fuel cost @ 3.00 /gallon and avareaging 18.4 mpg = $332.12
Hotels (hgh average) 8 nights @ $100 per night = $800
Food @$50.00 per couple per day x 8 days = $400

OH, and If you look at the entire route mapped out, it looks like an oversized State of ILLINOIS.

I know not everyone can take the week off and travel the entire trip, but if you have a chance to meet up with some of the rest of us fanatics oN the road, we would love to meet you.

Just let us know which stop(s) you can make and we'll look for you there.

Also those in the areas we will be stopping. Any suggestions for eating would be appreiciated. Or if you want to put on a BBQ or cook out at your place, I'm sure we would love to party at your place.

I don't stop for shopping on this trip. Although I do buy the event shirts so I don't have to carry as much or do any laundry.

I think that would be the misc fund. You can, but don't have to type thing.

Hold off on the signing up through Special events just yet. I'll get it set up as a group registration again this year.

Now that Christmas, New Years, and the Pinewood Derby are over, and the Packers are out of the Super Bowl. I thought it would be a good time to bring up the HRPT thread once again.

As far as hotels I had checked avialabilty of a couple and they have rooms available. The one exception was Springfield where I was hoping to get rooms at the Oasis (2007 Super Springfield Rally event hotel) They have that entire weekend blocked out.

Before booking rooms as a block or group we need to know how many are going to be at each place.

Any one care to take up this portion seeing that Iam getting very busy in the shopnow and may not have enough time to get the hotels organized.

I would still like to get the information from everyone attending the make a list for us for the Power Tour.

Now I've got to get to work. I took December and January off and I'm two months behind in getting things done.

i have additional info coming from hampton inns and best western for a group rate. hopefully i will have it by next week. below is the hotels listed under 2008 Hot Rod Power Tour Hotel Registration for the HRPT. you can go to the site and book your own rooms or if we can get some committments we we can select the same hotels to stay together. no doubt there are other hotels than the HRPT hotels. any suggestions ? june 7, 2008 isnt that far off and room availability will get a lot tighter the closer we get.
