Input needed... Keys Run 2011 or 2012?
Hi ya'll...
With so many exciting venues for the 2011 Fanatical year I am wondering if I should wait until 2012 to hold the next Florida Keys Run? Along with all the wonderful annual events we have, there is also a very special Woodward Dream Cruise and the exciting International Rally in Flagstaff. I'm thinking if I hold off until 2012, it would stagger the Keys Run to be held on the off year for our big International Rally(s), since they are both held every other year... I'd like to see what everyone else thinks... If not, and the consensus still wants it this coming year, I am going to have to start getting busy. So what say you my fanatical friends?

I like the idea of staggering it with the International Rally. The Keys are so far from some of us that making two long trips in one year becomes an issue, especially if they both fall in the same part of the year.

Since I have yet to attend a Keys run and it's on my "bucket list" I would say 2011 is great, but you are right, there are quite a few things going on next year. What time of year is the run normally?

Hurry- I may sell the SSR soon.
I NEED another Keys run...soon as possible. 2011?
Maybe right in the middle of Hurricane season? Could be interesting...LOL
(I'm kidding) but same week as Fantasy Fest might be futuristic historic SSR lore.

We may be able to make it in 2012 if you wait until then since I MAY be retired
Rob and I pondered whether to hold Laughlin in 2011 but since its an annual event we decided to go ahead. The # of participants may be smaller than years past, but we expect that and there are 8 months that separate it and the Flagstaff Rally.
We have discovered though, if you plan it, they will come

But we will take 2011 & 2012. We are Keys fanatics also and make a run annually anyway (sometimes twice )
Not at all interested in Fantasy Fest , thank God the Keys run is in November!

It looks like our west of the Mississippi fanatics are happy with 2012. What about the south easterners that usually come... say something someone. ???

I have reviewed the Post and have made the following decision.
FLORIDA KEYS RUN WILL BE 2012. I agree with my Ambassador, Annie and it is her SHOW! This will put the Keys Run staggered with the INTERNATIONAL.
(It is a lot of work to put the Keys Run together).
For those who live in Florida, we can go to the Keys any time. Just make a post that you are going and see who can make it.
INTERNATIONAL RALLY IN THE KEYS - As much as we, the Florida Chapter, would like to HOST the INTERNATIONAL RALLY, I would NOT do it in the KEYS, not much room, furthest point South in the U.S. and very hard to do other things.
I would think Nashville/Branson would be a more suitable for a EASTERN INTERNATIONAL RALLY.
Update please!!! I think we're in. Will need flying info.. Miami?
I am with you Vix, flying in I will be, the road to drive there isn't much fun, no twisty turns, like MV and its a long haul too!!! I need to pencil in the dates and start saving for the adventure !
