We can do a gathering for us in South Florida
What do you Suggest?
We are having a tech day in Jensen Beach and lunch or dinner not sure at this point on the 28th of January. Think about it You need to ride a blow the cob webs out of the"R".
We west coasters in so cal are talking up the Keys Run. Jill and I hope to join you. I want to drive my 05 SSR but Jill will maybe fly to Miami. Understand that accommodations may be scarce soon, so will encourage some "final" planning. I'm so senior that I 'd better put a codicil on my will just in case.
Black 06 from Oldsmar, Florida Ann & Tom O'Brien, have made reservations at the Pelican Cove for 3 nights We will be driving our SSR , God willing. Please count us in on all the activities.

Wow... almost 60 trucks - 175 fanatics +/-!
I am thrilled to death that ya'll will be coming but.... I have some concerns regarding us going to Key West in such a large group. With this many trucks showing up, a car show is out of the question for Mallory Square in Key West. I am not even sure if there is enough parking for us all on the entire island! I am sorry but there really isn't much I can do. I am checking into alternatives but honestly the Keys are not a convention type venue. There are no real accommodations for large groups to meet (or park). If the car show at Mallory Square is the main reason you want to attend this run you may want to reconsider your plans. I am terribly sorry but this is beyond my control. I really did not expect this many to attend (kinda like the last Keys Run ) ( It doubles everytime!)
There again.... If you are happy eating seafood, watching awesome sunsets with your toes in the sand, cruising top-down over turquoise waters and enjoying a few tropical drinks on the beach with some really great people.... then KEEP YOUR ROOMS!
Just wanted to give ya'll a head's up about Key West. Make your plans accordingly & I'll keep you posted...

Whether we have a show there or not I would like to make the run to Key West and back, hopefully with enough SSRs to "make a splash" for the locals and other visitors. If there are some that have done it before maybe they could leave it to those of us who have not to show off for the group? Whatever is going on I will be there.

I will still plan a run to Key West, don't get me wrong! We can snarl up traffic and get loud & proud revving our motors on Duvall Street...
I know everyone who hasn't been will want to go to Key West and it wouldn't be a "Keys Run" without going all the way south! I have been trying to find a back up plan for parking and that is the problem. The Truman Annex is the next best thing to Mallory Square for parking but with the Super Boat Races it is also being used... I am not going to give up trying to park us as a group but if we have to it will be public parking that's all. I wish it were different!
Don't worry Anne................just do the best you can and we will understand. We have no problem with putting our toes in the water and our AZZ in the sand. We have our plane reservations made, our rental van ready, and the resort room taken care of..........we are looking forward to reuniting with our fanatic friends and meeting some new friends as well.
Charles here from Cape Coral. My lovely bride (Ursula) and I would like to attend, just to make things more crowded you understand...
But if you think you can squeeze in one more truck, and two small peeps, we would make the trip.
Oh, my wife has one request.. Not sure if this is stipulation of attending or not, but how about some kinda name tags? Way too many people even for me. But I wish to meet every single one!! Oh, and the couples too!
Would that be possible.. Or possibly you already have this all under control. Please advise of reservations and confirmation. What is the next step??
Thanks,
Charles
Now, I will go back and read more of this thread, and perhaps get some of my questions answered.

Thanks for understanding everyone. I haven't written anything off yet... and I am still working on a fun week-end for ya'll. Key West will be getting another visit soon and I will grovel, coerce, blackmail, threaten and cry if I have to, to find a place for ALL of us.
In the meantime (just so you are assured it's not all doom & gloom) I will share a bit of what I have planned for our Friday evening festivities....
Picture us all on the beach,
the sun is setting,
the balmy breeze is blowing....
the tropical libations flowing.....
Appetizers of succulent seafood and side dishes native to exotic islands....
tropical libations flowing......
In the air wafts the smell of roasting Doophus cooked whole on the beach....
tropical libations flowing.....
My wife reminded me why we had name tags made after our first rally. We found that at the first rally we went to we learned the trucks, the second we learned the faced, the third we learned which trucks went with which faces. We are still trying to put names with the faces that matched what truck. I guess it could be because there so many of us and more than likely because there were to many tropical libations flowing? Just another reason to attend as many rallies as we can to learn everyone's names. "grin"

So true Michael! I also know the truck before the people! lol! It has been brought to my attention that Dictator is still making name tags if anyone is interested in ordering a nice pin with their name on it. Please contact him by pm if you would like to order one for yourself and your partner. They are inexpensive and very nice. I unfortunately lost mine somewhere on those awesome winding curves in the the Texas Hill Country.... lol! I think it flew off on a curve trying to keep up with Wildcat!
