Laughlin tech session
I have an idea for a tech session while we are at Laughlin. I was wondering how many people would be interested in having a tech session on how to use this site. For example how to down load pictures from a digital camera. How to make your posts more personal with private photo galleries. It seems every body does it different, maybe there is some ways that work better than others. Rob in AZ would know more about what is available at the hotel, maybe we can get a room just for this and have some body hook their lap top up and demonstrate how to do different functions. Let C1TRob (Rob) or Artsmart (Randi) know if this is needed, I think it is!

Sounds Like a wonderful idea to me. Might save a bit of money (by not gambling so much) and a bit of time in the future on the site.

I have arranged to have access to a projector to bring with me if we can set up a place. Just let me know so I ring the projector. The computer is coming either way. I do not have the knowlege to run or organize the session, but will be happy to help once it is planned.
PM or answer here.

Sounds good Dwight, bring the projector we will see if we can find a place at the hotel to set up for a the session.
Mike from AZ also contacted me about doing a head light adjustment session also while we are there.
This sounds great to me, I still have to type with two fingers and when it comes to the computer I know how to turn it on and thats about it. Any help with the web site would be appreciated. Please post the time and place. ZL SSR
That is the best idea that I have ever heard. I am new to this site and find it hard to use. Most of it is JUST ME. Always willing to learn something new or even try something new.

Head lamp adjustmant
I am planning on doing the adjustment on my truck here at home and become familiar with the proceedure. I will bring all the tools and materials to do the adjustments with me to Laughlin. All we wil need is a level 50 feet area with a wall to hang a adjustment screen from and be dark enough area to see the head lamp pattern. Some thing like a parking garage would do.

Do you think a headlight adjustment is needed for a Eibach spring lowering? I thought it was still good with that 1 1/2" front and 2" rear change.

Since I only changed the rear springs, I was not too surprised how much the headlight adjustment changed. The adjustment is a VERY simple procedure. It is clearly spelled out in the Service Manual. Requirements are only that you have a 50 foot level surface with a wall at the end. Tools and supplies needed....... Measuring tape, masking tape, allen wrench (headlights), a 1/4" 6 point nut driver or socket wrench (fog lights) and a towel to cover the lights mut being adjusted.
Having caravanned with other SSRs at night, it is really obvious that the adjustment is sensitive and everyone needs to know how to do it.
I'm copying the Service Manual procedure into a simplified, single sheet procedure that will be a handout for everyone at Laughlin and also available as a download from my web site.
See you there,
Mike

Adjustment
Any adjustment to the height of the truck will very where the headlamps are shinning. Any load change in the vehicle will also affect the headlamps. The service manual indicates that a 160 pound load should in the driver seat. Some of us Portly persons weigh a lot more than 160lbs. The tires should also be inflated to the proper inflation level.

Laughlin Bay Marina
Marina has hi-speed for the computer tech session as well as room for the headlight adjustments. We can do this following the show/shine for those who are interested. Bring laptops, cameras, cables, whatever you want to know about with you.
