Laughlin Thanks!
We just pulled in to home again! I want to thank all my co-partners for stepping up and helping to create yet, another successful event...Rob, Gerry, Lloyd, Doug, Debbie, Linda, and Jeff.
As always, as the years go by, I learn something new about how to run an event smoothly and learned something new again this year that I hope to try out at Laughlin 2011.
Our Show & Shine vendor, Findlay Motor Co., was so successful in getting the word out about the show that we had tons of late registrations that I was just not prepared for. Thanks to Ray, we will be sending out flyers in advance of the next event so everyone can register ahead of time.
While some have expressed the desire to move the Laughlin event because they've been there, done that, I anticipate the event will not be moved as we have looked into other venues along the Colorado River that would make the event cost prohibitive. I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone that its really about seeing old friends, and meeting new, and not about the place.
It was great seeing everyone. Tim and I hope that you've had a safe trip home and if we don't see you soon, we hope to see you in Colorado in July
Thanks to all that helped out, and a huge thanks to all that came to Laughlin for the event (especially Bigwave, who drove over for the Show & Shine on Saturday, and climbed onto the roof at Findlay Chevy to take a group picture)!
If I may echo the Thank you's to all my co-conspirators on the success of the Laughlin event this year. Randi & Tim, Gerry & Lloyd, Deb & Doug, Linda, & Jeff.
You made a wonderful time, with an awesome SSR Family reunion, the top highlight of my year.
Thank you to all the of the close knit SSR family for participating, because after all, it is each and everyone of you that makes this run so memorable each year.
All the donations that came in for raffles were fantastic. Thank you all.
Findlay Motor Co. is to be commended for their support and efforts to make a pretty cool car show, great.
I am looking forward to next year's run already, and hope to see as many of you as possible through out the coming year.
Couple personal side notes:
4Hr Drive time exactly with stops.
Turned a little past 60,000, with this run.
Had set tires at 32 lbs. got home and they were 34lbs.
Overall 18.9 MPG @ Avg 70 MPH
As usual the committee did an awesome job. Randi, Tim, Rob & Sharon do such a great job at putting this together. The rest of us are just helpers along the way. I do want to comment on the Findlay Motors...that was the best car show we have done so far. The folks from Findlay Motors were excited to have us there, which made the show that much more fun. And the weather couldn't have been better. Just a great time over all!
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful time. We had a mini
caravan coming home with Runrodrun, Bad Bob, Canary,
Wayne and myself. All different colors and we looked
cool going down the highway. All home safe and sound
and looking forward allready to next year. Thanks again
Randi, LT, Gerry and LLoyd, Jeff, Doug and all the others
that did a great job putting this together. And by the way,
the coins were neat.

You do work tirelessly all year long to put on this fabulous event, and it shows. Do you ever rest? The new location for the car show was awesome. They certainly went out of their way to accommodate and welcome us. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones. We look forward to this event every year. Happy 5 yr Anniversary River Run. See you in 2011
