Sorry for the short notice. This is intended to be a spontaneous National Event.....
October 2nd is being celebrated as "Livestrong Day" by the Lance Armstrong Foundation. That's a Friday.... about 10 days from now.
We (the Phoenix Fanatics) are going to celebrate with a Friday evening dinner at a nice local outdoor restaurant and an after-dinner cruise with the fog lights on. The intention here is to have all of the SSR Family go out and cruise on the evening of October 2nd. The evening will be dedicated to all of our SSR family that has, is or will battle cancer. I've contacted the Lance Armstrong Foundation for a pile of yellow wrist bands to be given in exchange for a donation that night. The proceeds will be sent on behalf of the gathered SSR Fanatics to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I've worked a deal with the local restaurant to donate a portion of all of our food bills to the same.
I'm posting this on the National Events forum in hopes that it will carry across the country and mobilize the SSR Family to collectively go out to dinner on the same nite and Cruise this country against cancer. You can get yellow wrist bands from lots of locations, including Dick's Sporting Goods and the lance Armstrong Foundation. They will be happy to ship some to you.
If you decide to have a gathering, please feel free to follow the links on the attached fliers to the Livestrong Action group. They have a pin-map of all the local events, nation-wide. They will also register your event and provide support.
Sorry for the lack of planning...... it was really a last minute request to me and I'm trying to mobilize a movement with short notice. We can do this.......
There will be a thread on the Southwest Forum for the Arizona SSR Fanatics to jump into and sign up.
I am encouraging everyone on the forum to gather together in whatever group you can (large or small makes no difference) and go have a Friday night Cruise Against Cancer.
Thanks,
Mike
If you're from AZ.... Here's a link to the sign-up thread......
