Count Ron & Robin in for this one too. When Mike announced it Saturday night - we were ready to sign up then. Only 320 miles from Albuquerque as opposed to the 510 miles to Laughlin.

We want to see Floridians at the Rally too!

The SSR Rally dates have been set to coincide with the Flagstaff Route 66 Days event which we have been informed by the FR66 organizers will be Friday, September 9 - Sunday, September 11 2011.

Here's a link to their website (which currently displays last year's event flyer):

Now, with the Route 66 Rally, you have my attention. Kingman Az has a Route 66 Run the first of May, which is really cool, small town atmosphere , so I would imagine a Flagstaff Route 66 Rally would be just as fun and would be in the same vane..Good move!!!

Update

We are in the process of confirming the venue at this time. We should be able to post a sign up sheet with the venue within a week or so.

Thank you.

I casually mentioned.

I casually mentioned to Paco that the 2011 National Rally is in Flagstall, AZ, and that Mike and Doug are hosting (just hoping, not expecting), she said "Great, I think we should GO!. This is after she vetoed a trip to Vermont in Sept this year because she "did not want to spend three days flying and driving just to get there and back, flying into and back from Boston, the traffic, etc."

This is great! We finally get to meet some more of the Fanatics in addition the the great people that welcomed into the group at the Panhandle Rally and the Central Florida Rally next week.

Thanks for that information, this is the one I was thinking of:

Cheyenne, Cheyenne Hotels, Wyoming Hotels - Little America Hotel, Cheyenne Wyoming

Last time I was there it was just a gas station at an off ramp in the middle of nowhere. (obviously, it was profitable)

This rally sounds perfect. We will be for the first time in 24 yrs....childless!... Need to figure out whether to fly into Vegas or Phoenix, rent a cool vehicle, and head to Flag. May relive 28 yrs ago when my fireman buddy and I drove from Phoenix to Grand Canyon with stops to Jerome and Flag on the way.
I wonder if that small airport still exisits that we found on the way back that offered sail plane rides. What a blast that was as I had never been in one. My pilot was a Nam Vet that was hilarious and since it was slow day, we caught a nice thermal and stayed up there for over an hour. Great memories. Jerome was just being rebuilt back then and got a great pic of my buddy in front their fire station. I remember a copper mine in their valley that belonged to Lewis and Clark? at one time.
I wonder if I'll have to behave in Flag as a trooper got me for a speeding ticket that I never paid..and wonder if a warrant is still active after 28 yrs?..
Beautiful country and want to make it.

I'll be a monkey's uncle...I found that airport!

Turf Soaring School

What is even funnier is that red and white striped winged plane on their website is the one my buddy rode in..28yrs ago! or it's a clone of it. After the rally, I am taking my wife there and we are flying baby. I gotta find that pic of him I took when I was soaring just above him. Crazy. Found them.....
