No caravan planned yet. I think we are leaving Saturday morning July 3rd and spending one night somewhere in Utah, haven't decided where just yet, and arriving at the resort Sunday.

We'll most likely leave the 2nd with the first night in Flagstaff. Then maybe we'll meet up with Mikey out in the middle of nowhere (Monument Valley).
Say lloger, is I - 70 reopen now after that big rock fall from a month ago?

Here's our tenative schedule so far....
St George Utah Friday night the 2nd,
then thru Zion and Bryce to Tropic on Saturday the 3rd, (with plenty of time for looking around)
State hwy 12 and 24 northeast thru Utah to Grand Junction Colorado Sunday the 4th,
Then southeast on route 50 thru Montrose and Gunnision to Colorado Springs on Monday the 5th.

If our paths should cross somewhere along the way we would welcome the company of fellow travelers
If you have the time, get off the interstate and do some state highways. The scenery is infinitely more interesting!

We're leaving Phoenix Friday afternoon and spending Friday nite at the Hilton Garden Inn in Flagstaff. Bad_Bob (Bob & Gloria) and Smokey (Jim & Glenda) have booked rooms there too.

The three of us will be leaving Flag at about 8:00am, headed across Monument Valley (through Bluff, UT) and ending up at the China Clipper in Ouray for Saturday and Sunday nights. We'll be joined there by jmeld (Jeff & Jalynn) there. The 4 "R"s will be leaving Ouray on Monday morning, headed for Colorado Springs.

We're picking up Chuck Styles and Mr. Duck (Don & Annie) at about 9:15 in Montrose, headed across to Salida for lunch. Several good places to eat there, so we don't overwhelm one cafe. Looks like it will be - -

Should be lots of fun........ Join us along the way, if you want.

Vix, about two weeks ago, I tried getting a room anywhere within the city of Ouray that had a downstairs room. No luck on my part.
I'm guessing you wouldn't have any trouble with a upstairs room if their any available.

If you look at the map, Montrose is just a little north. They have several places to stay. There is also the possibility of finding a quaint little B&B in Silverton or a place in Durango.......

Regards,

Mike

China Clipper

Run Rod Run & Vix:

Tonight when I checked the China Clipper site I found they still have a room on the 1st floor called the Sea Witch that is still available?!!! You might want to check it out.

China Clipper
http://ouraylodging-inns.com/roomsandrates.html

The Spangler House B&B also shows rooms available:
http://www.spanglerhouse.com/

I "googled" Lodging Ouray CO and found quite a few lodging/hotels, etc.

Good luck!

For those SoCal going to Ouray

Bad_Bob & RRR will be leaving for Flagstaff on Friday AM.
As for Flagstaff, I got myself a room (Hampton Inn) right across the street from where the others will be staying.
We’re also staying at the China Clipper in Ouray for two nights.
Any other So Cal members want to join in, let us know.

Are you sure it 6 1/2 hrs? At some point and gotta make a pit stop wouldn't you think?

I'm guessing with the Sunday traffic between Glenwood Springs and the Dillon Reservoir, it a full day of driving.

If you will read it, it says 6 1/2 hrs. 'driving time'. I'm just quoting what Mapquest says....................

The Tub is in the shop... We'll know tomorrow what the diagnosis is.

We are now hoping it is just the flex plate having loose bolts vs the bottom end which is what it sounded like when I called Joe/Richard. If it is just the flex plate then we are still going...

If it is the motor... We aren't going anywhere...

One month from today the gathering of SSRs will begin at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Co. I can't believe it is here already. The Rocky Mountain Gang is really looking forward to being your host.

It's about time to bring this back up,seeing as we're one weekend away!
(and Mrs Duck started packing a week ago!!!)

Doug, don't wait for us in Montrose, we're not gonna be there that early. We're staying at a nice winery outside of Grand Junction-Paliside-so we'll be leaving there after breakfast, probably put us in Montrose about an hour or more behind you guys.I'll PM you a phone # and anyone else that may be in the area around that time

We'll see you out there on the road somewhere
