Finally found my USB cable again.. Here are a few pictures on the road from Springfield to the NW SSR get together in Penticton..
1. Bears in drive through exhibit near Mt. Rushmore
2. More Bears
3. Mt. Rushmore
4. Buffalo in Custer State Park (South Dakota)
5. Odometer roll over to 8000 miles in Montana. (Ironically, the same speed as the $180 speeding ticket from the sheriff in South Dakota.)

Zane, great to hear your making your way thru some good looking weather. Too bad about the ticket. Does Montana still have the no speed limit roads?
See you tomorrow
Montana was interesting: As I was leaving Billings had the check engine symbol/light come on. Hooked up the laptop and I was getting code P0420 Catalyst System (in)efficiency. Cleared it (wanted to see if it was a fluke one-time thing) and it didn't come back on till just as I entered Coeur d'Alene, Idaho this morning. According the Chevy Dealer in Missoula it is one of: Oxygen Sensor, Catalytic Converter, tank of bad gas, or water in gas?? Gas Mileage has been average compared to the rest of the trip. Seems to be running just fine and with the non-OEM exhaust, it is something I will have to get fixed later I guess ...
Anyway back to the topic at hand...pix:
1. After fueling up in Butte, MT found a '04 Silver from Spokane, WA..or rather he found me just as I pulled on to I-90. We stopped at a Rest Stop and talked. He doesn't have a computer but is interested. I have info for Sue (tickledpink).
2. Silver SSR..
3. Stop along the road (Highway 20/31) in Washington..North of Coeur d'Alene Idaho.
4. Box Canyon Hydro-Electric Dam in Washington
5. The view from my room tonight in Balfour, BC (http://www.kootenaylakeviewlodge.com)
When I crossed into Canada, I think the customs people were very bored. There was no one else there at the same time I was. So they took the opportunity to unload EVERYTHING and search every single bag and inch of the SSR.
Good to be here though!! Love the scenery!! See everyone in the NW Group tomorrow!!

Montana now has posted limits of 75 pretty much everywhere. Coming through Bozeman a Chevy Diesel passed me so I followed him for a while... (I think his cruise was set on 100) then my lightened wallet reminded me to slow down.
A while back, during the day, the 75 MPH was a "violation of the fossil fuel conservation act". A fine of $5 on the spot. At night it was punishable by death,
I carried a lot of fives in those days.

Her Majesty's Pad . . .
I'll bet everyone is thinking that, with all the lists, boxes of Rally info and itineraries for each attendee, and other assorted information, that Lloyd and Gerry had to bring to the Springfield Rally. They must have had their tinee tiny room at the Oasis, just overflowing with papers, lists and records with little or no room to even move around let alone get a decent night's sleep.
Well . . . not exactly the case. But, sometimes you just have to "rough it"
1) Downstairs dining and living area.
2) kitchen adjacent to downstairs living area.
3) Spiral staircase to office, upstairs bathroom and sleeping quarters.
4) Grown ups playroom.
5) Upstairs bath with shower and Jacuzzi.
We certainly had a nice suite at the Oasis. However, Lloyd and I did not get to enjoy all the nice amenities. We were constantly racing in and out of the suite with "stuff" piled on the table and floors. We never even turned on the TV in the bedroom and I only watched the weather reports on the TV downstairs. We didn't use the gigantic jacuzzi (enough room for 6 people). We did use the king size bed and the shower. Oh well, it was a lovely suite! A big thanks to the Oasis for remaining "flexible" and allowing us to use facilities when we had to reschedule activities.
