The Springfield Challenge
The Springfield Challenge
What it is:
This Challenge is designed to inspire groups of SSR Fanatics to visit as many of the Springfields located in the United States of America and Canada in the year before the 2015 International SSR Rally in Springfield, IL as possible.
How it works:
1. Pick a Springfield. A “Springfield” can be a city, town, village or other municipal entity. East, West, North and South Springfield’s are also eligible.
2. Pick a date, time and location that will meet the requirements of Rule #7 below.
3. Announce your event in this Challenge thread so others can join you. An “event” is described in Rule #1 below.
4. Have fun. Combine the event with meals, sightseeing, bowling, golf or a local car show.
5. Take a picture.
6. Post the picture in this Challenge thread with the info required in Rule #7 below.
Timeframe:
This Challenge will be open for events from the time of this announcement until Monday, September 21, 2015. Photos of events may be posted until Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
The winner of The Springfield Challenge will be announced at the 2015 International SSR Rally banquet.
Rules:
1. A Springfield Challenge event is defined as a gathering of SSR Fanatics in any Springfield. Many of which are listed in Post #2. A minimum of 2 SSRs (actual trucks) constitutes an event. There is no maximum limit.
2. Registration will be by truck. A truck may be known by it’s name or the Screen Name of it’s owner(s).
3. One truck will earn 2 points at an event with it’s owner(s); an owner attending without a truck will earn 1 point.
4. Multi-truck owners may designate one truck to accumulate points for any of their trucks attending an event or may have each truck considered separately.
5. In no case shall any truck be awarded more than 2 points for any event or any location.
6. For points to be credited people must have photographic proof posted in this Challenge thread on SSRFanatic.com.
7. Post in what State & County or Province & Parish the Springfield event occurred. Acceptable proof will include: One or more photos from the event, which must contain a minimum of two trucks, recognizable landmarks or signs, the participants (with their screen names listed in the post) in such a manner that it proves all were there. Examples of landmarks are: Post Office, City Hall, Library or other buildings with “Springfield” on them, City or Town limit signs, etc. The participant taking the photo will be counted. (edited 12/4/14 to indicate flexibility)
8. Each truck may only count any Springfield once but are encouraged to attend any event available. A truck may attend a new event in a Springfield they already have credit for to meet the two truck minimum for another member but will not receive additional credit.
9. All members attending the 2015 International SSR Rally in Springfield, IL will automatically be entered for Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.
Scoring:
The Challenge Winner will be determined to be the SSR which has accumulated the most points by attending Springfield Challenge events.
We will attempt to keep the standings updated in Post 3 of this Challenge Thread.
Tie Breakers:
First Tie breaker will be cumulative straight line mileage from the trucks home zip code to the various events, as determined by Distance calculator, divided by the total number of events attended by the truck or it’s owner(s).
Second Tie breaker will be a drawing from all mileage winners that are tied.
