Hey Gary,
I assume the soup will be arriving here today inside it's highly protective case. Security can be arranged if needed (for the soup of course..).

The Last Hurrah . . .
The "Duck" attended his last Event before the Sprinfield Super Rally, a benefit for the Downs Syndrome Association hosted by Art & Lucky (hdflstf). This was part of Lucky's requirement for receiving her Masters Degree. I was told by Art that a huge pile of toys and cash was raised by this Thai bar-b-que. Here the "Duck" is perched atop the mass of toys donated to these kids and at the table during lunch with his ever-present Duckette in attendance. And then home for his last few days in Southern California.

I've now completed my part in the anthology which is posted on this thread The Focks Duck Soup AUCTION . . . instead of at the STICKY on the top of this forum. Will try to transfer it, but so far not having any luck. Maybe Marc will help me. I hope everybody gets to read it. I would love to have somebody out bid me big time for Uncle Focks Duck Soup, but if not the "Duck" will just have to remain in Southern California (which I don't mind at all) . We have a lot of fun with this peculiar culinary delight and look forward to either reading about the future travels of the "Duck" or again participating in them ourselves. I want to thank, again, REBEL for dreaming up this idea and for the opportunity to participate in it. The travels of Wingrider are incredible, the custodianship of HotRodGirl, terrific. The winning bid of Ross to start it off, excellent. Where the "Duck" goes from here nobody knows, YET ! !
Beat $300 and you can start your own history with the "Duck".

If you do what you've always done,
You'll get what you've always gotten.
Just got back to the room - the auction was awesome. Instead of individual bids, they divided the colors of SSR's into groups to get roughly equal numbers of owners, and the groups' members pledged what they would contribute to win the soup. The final winning bid was $1,550 (or so) and won by the red, silver and UV owners. The custodian for the next go-round is John, of Lady in Red (Liz and John). The plan is to split the amount pledged among two or three events to maximize the donations. This was really a good event. Lloyd and Gerry really outdid themselves with this, and Big Jim put together a couple of awesome slide and video programs, with sound, that featured almost everyone from every event from the past two years. The video and sound from the drags was amazing! Sorry - I'm not trying to make you feel bad - it was just really a good evening. Many are going to Sonic right now, but with only about 30-35 parking spaces and more than 75 SSR's, we'll pass this time.
Thanks for the update

custodian of the duck...
John and Liz are perfect custodians...they travel a lot and the duck will get to visit even more places. Way to go, Lloyd and Gerry, you really made sure Gary lost custody (he should after Art's house )
