If there is one thing I have learned since becoming a SSR FANATIC, we love to get together cruise and find some local places to eat. Since "Man VS Food" and "Dinners, Drive ins and Dives or DDD" as we know they always show great places to eat. “If anyone wants it, I have a 44 page list from DDD and Man VS Food, I can email you, just PM me with your email and if you test them out I will add them with your recommendation.
I thought we would put together our favorite local places to eat and share with all of our Fanatic Friends.
So I have started with a few of our favorite places and if you have a great place, just add it and I will put in on the list with your recommendation. It might become a list of new locations that we can start to cruise to, in the future.
Try to keep the format like the list ie:
Name of restaurant
address, city state,
phone if you know website if know, and (you who recommended it) "what is your favorite dish"
Happy Eating, and we hope to locate some new favorite Restaurants.
Elaine and Duane Morgan AKA: “Bigwave”

Domenico’s Belmont Shores
Domenico's Home
5339 E 2nd St
Long Beach, CA 90803
I grew up near Domenico's during the 50's and 60's so this place has a long familiar history with my family. Even today, I've gone out of my way for a 90 minute drive just to eat at Domenico's.
For starters, you get complimentary minestrone soup and a bread basket with every meal. Its a small cup of soup but very flavorful. And the bread in the basket is divine ... even without oil and vinegar.
Be sure to order their house salad. Always fresh, with black olives, tomatoes, and a creamy garlic house dressing. (the best dressing I’ve ever had! Just ask crazyrtr53 ... he knows too.)
As for pizza, try their ground pepperoni pizza. It is a little salty ... but they bring the refills quickly so its not an issue. If you have never had a ground pepperoni pizza ... you are missing out.
Parking is the only drawback so you might have to walk a couple of block and you’ll need that walk after such a good meal . (Run Rod Run)

Tex Drive In and Restaurant
Hwy 19, The Hamakua Coast
808-775-0598
When Ada Pulin-Lamme bought the old Tex Drive-In, she made significant changes, such as improving upon an ages-old recipe for Portuguese malasadas, a cakelike doughnut without a hole. Tex sells tens of thousands of these sugar-rolled morsels a month, including ones filled with pineapple/papaya preserves, pepper jelly, or Bavarian cream. The menu has a local flavor and features ethnic specialties: Korean chicken, teriyaki meat, kalua pork with cabbage, Filipino specials, and a new addition, Tex wraps served with homemade sweet-potato chips. With its gift shop and visitor center, Tex is a roadside attraction and a local hangout; residents have been gathering here over early-morning coffee and breakfast for decade

this is a small chain but this one is the best we have been too - in fact the main Cheeseburger Charley's was disappointing.
Beefalo Burger is great for those trying to keep a check on the fat and calories (140 calories and 5g of fat for an 8oz burger) food is fresh and taste great. (Kiwi)

They are free standing buildings with ordering at the counter for a very reasonable price and the taste will keep you going back for more.
There are 12 locations around Memphis with one each in AR and MS.
The minced pork, baked beans w/pork and tangy slaw are incredible. You will easily be hooked to drive out of your way to find a location but there are many in the Memphis area and along the highways surrounding the city.

bigtexan.com We had to stop at the Big Texan in Amarillo to see what all the hubbub was about. That place can pack in the people. When we first arrived there was a gentleman from Scottsdale, AZ starting the challenge of eating that 72oz steak and all the fixins. By the time we were done...so was he! He did make it at the last minute. Our waitress said that the guy on Man vs. Food ate it in about 30 minutes, and they did have an 11 yr old that was the youngest to eat the meal. Fastest was the guy ate it in about 8 minutes Anyway, steaks were a bit pricey. But it was probably the most tender steak I think I've had. Good novelty place to take the tourist. 435-529-3921 I was returning from Redding and was on Rt. 50 coming thru Nevada and crossed into Utah. I came into a small town of Salina and stopped to gas up and look for a place to eat. I asked a construction guy at the gas station if he had a recco for some good diner food. He pointed up the street and said Mom's Cafe.
I walked in,sat down, and had the best damn chicken fried steak I had ever eaten. The unique mash potatoes and gravy was killer as well as the delicious green beans and topped off with a big ole piece of homemade pie. By pure dumb luck I had stumbled into heaven.... after 6 days of interstate and hotel food. National Geographic did a feature on them and they have signed pictures of Willie Nelson and Chuck Yeagar on their wall praising the food. Just a cool place with much history. The classic diner.
