Too bad it's limited... You may have had a chance to top the # of Roadsters meeting in the San Gabriel Valley this weekend.

If its an SSR Homecoming why should it be limited?
Thats like having a High School reunion and saying only those with last names starting with the letters A-M can attend.

They only made a little over 20 thousand vehicles. How many do they think will show?????

Cool Ditto What Jim Said

Glad you posted this today Marc,

CIRCLEK454 and I were just talking about this on the phone yesterday. We were both wondering how they plan on choosing who is their guest for the event.

I for one would love to attend the event and tour the craft center. And I'm sure there are a few others too.

Cool Homecoming...

We never made the run to Spring Hill, TN when we had a Saturn, but I'm pretty sure we would go to the LCC for this. Please put us on the list, Marc.

Limited Number???

What's up with that?

When I went to the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant with the Prowler group while it was still in production there wasn't a limit put on how many people could attend.

Out of 20k cars you could probably only get a max of 150 cars anyway.

The largest Prowler gathering to date is only a little bit over 100 cars done in 2003 in Pigeon Forge, TN.

I think limiting attendance is a bad idea.

Please have patience. I wanted to give everyone a early heads up so that you might be prepared to sign up and register early.

I am hoping that ALL that apply might be allowed to come. The only issue I can see is how many the Lansing Craft Center people can handle at their location. The tour will be carried on while production is being run. Number of participants will be determined very soon. My understanding it will be first come first served.

Some early info:

1.) You must own an SSR
2.) Member of our Site
3.) There will be contests with prizes and voting by Plant workers.
4.) Discussions with plant personnel & chats with workers
5.) Viewing new models
6.) Rare showing of specially made SSRs and Original early proto-types

PS More to come.

I think that is a good idea. Supporting members could be given first shot if there is indeed a max number that can attend.

Any other guestions or comments are welcomed...

Marc...

If it gets down to numbers and SM is a qualifier, then their date of becoming a SM could be the order offered up to those who want to attend.

P/P

Peace

This looks great! I just bbecame a member of this fine board, and look forward to this road trip, from Plano, Tx. Would it count if my wife's home town was Lansing, Michigan? I am a shoe in now!

Arrow Update 2

I should comment more on my statement of "limited" availability for attendees at the SSR facility.

First of all the Lansing Craft Centre is going to try accommodate as many of the SSR owners that want to come to this great first time gala event. Even though the "limited" availability is a real concern... it is actually limited ONLY to the number of people that the tour groups can accommodate. There is only a 2 hour window ( 9 AM – 11 AM) for actual production tours. No one will want to tour the plant when there is no production going on at time of their tour.

The plant employees will be joining in on the festivities also and they will be talking to the SSR owners and then actually voting for their favorite SSRs for prizes etc that will be given out during the event.

Here is the latest Info released to me:
  • The event is not limited to ssrfanactic.com members.
  • The plan is to include a plant tour,
  • We need a firm RSVP list by 7/22/05, which is the real "limit"
  • We are planning for more than the number that attended the dream cruise last year
  • We don't plan to turn anyone down unless we get so many that we can't run the plant that day!!
  • We may need to limit the tour aspect of the event, if the number grows too large
Again in the event that the gathering gets too large the only limits will be those that can actually take the in-plant tour. The other many activities and festivities will still go on as planned. Hopefully there will be room for everyone that wants to attend.

PS There will be other SSR owners from various organizations that will be attending this huge homecoming event too.
