Souvenirs
Souvenirs
After lunch everyone headed home as many still had a long drive except Dave, Joyce, Steve and myself where we went souvenir shopping and spent time getting to know each other. This was Dave and Joyce's first SSR event (WDC Lot & Duggans).....I do believe they are hooked lined and sunk Wonderful couple with a very impressive background. After grabbing our WDC goodies we went to their home and shared a lot of information between us.
We did good hitting sales for the Official 2008 WDC T-shirts for only $10.00 the car model for $5.00 and the WDC Street sign 2008....I've collected one for every year I have hosted the WDC 2005-2008

Chuck it just wasn't the same without you .....I missed you not being here!!! Couldn't have asked for anything better in the weather department. Weather like this brings out the best classic cars. I'm tellin I saw many classics I have never seen before in my 12 years of participating in Woodward.

Hosting events is fun - and Deb did a GREAT job with this weekend! You all were so friendly - made me feel like I've been attending east coast events since the start!
Marty and Dee - thanks so much for the offer to stay at your 'River Riveria' - what a neat tucked away location you have - and to have Larry and his '06 PacBlue just down the way! I worked my way to Dayton - and will be heading over to the Wight Patterson AFB Museum in a few min....
Marty - that drive down 127 was just what I needed after all the hustle and bustle of my work week in Cincy and the MASSIVE gathering called the WDC...

Bravo Deb... they'll miss your hostessing next year I'm sure.
I can't get anyone to take it over..................so
I am hosting next year and will be putting together a WDC committee in a few months. I'm taking some time off from planning MI runs allowing me the time to host the WDC 2009 in between jobs. I have to many contacts on a first name basis to get our members the best of the best while visiting.
I'm proud of the state I live in with Woodward a main attraction in Michigan and being a member of this SSR Fanatic website.......This event is a must see for those whom haven't and for the returning diehards!!!!
Ray's lot on Woodward is the key to enjoying this Largest Classic Car Show in the World..........You have to come and see it it's to large to describe

As former US Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta noted in his announcement….. “Byways are roads to the heart and soul of Amercia”. They create a sense of pride and connect us to the nations history and culture. Woodward Avenue put the world on wheels, and America’s automobile heritage is represented along this corridor…..GM, Ford and Chrysler.
