Ok this is the unofficial thread on the WDC 2012
The confirmed date is August 18, 2012
First of all thanks to Hot Rod Girl for organizing this event for the last number of years we appreciated all the work she has put into this ! Next - Thanks to Windsuppressor Ray for organizing the lot for the last number of years ! I am starting to understand the hard work and planning that involved in securing this area !
We have assembled a group to continue this event for 2012. We are still open for volunteers who would like a peice of the action. We will continue with some parts and we will delete some and we will add some more! We dont have any preconceived ideas other than we will continue with the lot on Woodward. We are open to new ideas and suggestions and will use some of them next year and pass some of them onto the following year. The Theme will be the same as Debbie and Ray have promoted since they started "its all about the SSR's and Cruising Woodward" !
Please feel free to share your ideas openly on this thread and/or send me a PM on your thoughts on what you would like to see when you attend this event in 2012.
Those that have agreed to help out with organizing this will meet in the early winter so we can start the Main thread. This way people can plan ahead for the weekend and know what to expect.
Oh and by the way I'm not the organizer just the main mouthpeice that will keep the ball rolling !
Let the Fun begin
Cam

Thanks Cam for starting this thread. It appears I have volunteered to be the local organizer for the Dream Cruise trying to take over for Debbie (HRG). Only hope I can perform as well. As Cam said we are open to suggestions and ideas and look forward to your feedback as to what is good, what is not and what changes or other activites you the members and participants want. I have already started looking at some new ideas but it is apremature to discuss or finalize any plans at this time. Enjoy the fall and here's looking forward to next August .
And yes Cam, the WDC is always on the 3rd Sat of August so Aug 18, 2012 is the correct date.
Thanks to all who helped in one way or another over the years and I hope some of you will agree to volunteer once again.
Jim, I'm sure you are going to do a great job and thank you for doing it. I do have one suggestion and that is to keep the same hotel. I think most of us have been very happy with The Residence Inn.
Cam and I are working on the arrangements and some of the details for this year's WDC. I am finalizing the hotel and restaurants and some other activities and Cam is working on other details. I have received all the past information, contacts, merchandise etc from Debby (HRG). We are trying to lock down these details and we plan on announcing the plans and schedule shortly. Thank you for your interest, and don't forget we will greatly appreciate any volunteers to help with setting up and conducting the actual event on Sat 18 Aug.
this is the chat thread the other one has all the details !
let the opinions flow we still have time for constructive input
as they say on the big day speak now or forever hold your peace

Thanks for continuing this event. Cori and I finally got a chance to experience the WDC last year and planned to come this year,.. but unfortunatly we have a couple things going on and cant make it
Deb and her team did a fantastic job running the show.
My opinion.....
The show will never be the same...They never are.
Every year brings new add-ons and most important,.. new faces.
Each year the coordinator is handed a clean sheet of paper.
Volunteers usually jump on board right away. The event forms from there.
We have attended many events for many organizations over the years... Every one was different except a few things.
1. We made new friends at every one of them
2. We never sat idle or alone and thought "Wow, this sucks"
3. Departing was such sweat sorrow.
We'll help in any way we can.
Good luck to you
Wild Bill and Cori

I'm sure the new Woodward SSR Fanatic committee will do just fine. Not to take anything away from the great job Ray and Debbie has done since 2005.
Any event that has run as long as Woodward is bond to wear on long distance
SSR participates as far as getting them to return every year! The Fanatics that have never been to the WDC should experience it at least once!
Hope to see Wild Bill at his International Rally next year and all our old & new SSR Fanatics friends at Rallies Karen and I can make inbetween.
