2010 Blizzard - Surviving

Well, I survived the 2010 Blizzard, so far....My lights have been flickering a little here in the past hour. I had around 2'-0" of snow here in Bethesda. My SSR is tucked away safely in the underground parking garage here at my condo. I was out at a job site friday until mid day when the snow started, so the 'R did see a little snow (very little). After returning from home around noon on firday I have been watching the storm coverage on TV and taking a few photos and videos from my window. Here is a link to a Picassa Photo Gallery:

Thanks for sharing Brian, and as Gina said, stay warm!

You'll definitely be able to wear a T shirt that says "I survived the blizzard of '10 when this is over!

A new video.....

Sorry this isn't a "Midnightrider Productions" video, but here is a quick video clip of the Blizzard that I shot earlier today and posted on my other You-Tube channel - BriScoDaBSD. This is another alter-ego that I use for my sketches, videos and design work.

I'll eventually get back to the SSR videos, but I have had to take down some of my previous SSR videos form You-Tube since YT stripped off the audio from many of my videos - copyright issues. I'll keep the rest of my opinoins on this to myself

Brian..................Thanks for the video.....what, no music, but I like the font at the end. I can't even imagine people out in that kind of weather. Be sure to wear long underwear, hat and gloves if you must go out!

I went out for a few hours this morning, bundled up in multiple layers, to shoot some photos of the snow fall here in Bethesda. I've posted about 60 pics on my blog:
bri•sco•da|sketchblog+design
I also did a time lapse video from my window while I was out walking around. (check out the guy shoveling his sidewalk acoss the street)

Thumbs up Nice

Great Pictures Brian

Amazing...200 miles north and not a flake of snow.
Got cloudy and dark on Friday afternoon, looked like we might get some snow but nothing.
About 15 miles south of here they got about an inch and it got deeper the farther you went.

Spent Saturday night in Watkins Glen at my wife's company party.
They don't have a Christmas party because of the end of year crazyness, so they have a "Cabin Fever Reliever" about this time of year.
Great time to have some fun to break up a usually snowy cold winter.....

Everything should be back to normal in DC for Monday. No need to cancel anything.
Been watching the Pens. play the Caps in DC. stands are full. If you can get to the game you can get to work.

Here's a couple pics of summer vs. winter.

We only got 5" in Williamsburg this weekend, though it was a wet snow. Between this weekend and last weekends 9", I've had enough snow for the year.

I would have no excuse since I actually walked to the office this morning when I was out taking pictures, some of which were actually taken from the window at my desk. The toughest part for me will be crossing the street in front of my building. I almost got hit three times in the same crosswalk earlier this week.

It looks like the trucks finallly made it into the single family neighborhood across the street late this afternoon. I think I have a pretty clear route scouted out to the office.

There is a little bit of water running down the falls.
If you look at the darker spot near the center of the ice you may be able to see some water.
As it splashes down the falls it keeps building up the ice.

Well Brian are you ready for some more. Wed. we are suppose to get up to another foot of snow. We got 18 inches here in chocolate/covered bridge area. Some good news out of this for me anyhow. Got to ride my new snowmobile on Sunday with my daughter Kristen. Put on 120 miles up on the mountain trails.

Last thing your area needs is more snow. It may take all week to clean up from the last one.

Forecast here is calling for a couple inches possible for Tuesday night.
This area is used to dealing with snow, we have much more equipment to handle it. A couple inches is no problem.

It's been a while since I had the snow blower running so I filled the tank and fired it
up to charge the battery, and gave it a complete checkout.

I'm ready.......

Let it SNOW
