Well... I'll start out with some pictures I took on my trip up into PA. I diverted off the highway as soon as I crossed the state line and cut back roads (some I would barely classify as a road) across southern York county, crossed over to Lancaster county at Holtwood, then went north and headed to the hotel in Ephrata. I was already running a bit late, so I hopped back on the highway.
The first pictures are from Muddy Creek Forks, home of the Ma & Pa Railroad Historical Society. The spot where I parked to take the pictures was under water just a few weeks ago.
Behind the mill along the road was a shed hiding and old Dodge truck. It's very rusty but still looked solid.
I then traveled north to get to a main road so I could head south toward Holtwood. Before crossing the river, I pulled onto a road that paralleled the river. Road would be a misnomer though -it was mostly gravel.
But... I got some great shots of the dam and of some remnants of an ancient canal that ran along the river bank. There's still a huge volume of water flowing down the river from the recent weeks worth of rain. The Susquehanna can range up to a mile wide in spots like it is between Wrightsville and Columbia. Here, not nearly as far, but wide enough. You can see the power house on the Lancaster side of the river.
Not far north from this site is a location called "Indian Steps".
Then it was back on the road and over into Lancaster county. I made a stop at a bridge that had been my avatar picture for several years. I took another shot of the SSR (I seem to do this nearly once a year) in front of the bridge.
Then it was back onto the highway.
There was only 1 thing I saw on the highway that I wish I could have gotten a picture of. It was a yellow VW Beetle with a giant Peep on the roof! I found it with a search and attached a picture. It was on I83 heading south towards Baltimore.

Some great pic's Kevin! I've got a slow internet, but here we go...
The drive down...
Crossed at the Rainbow Bridge...
Stopped at the Lake Effect Diner in Buffalo (of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives fame) for brunch...
The Pennsylvania welcome center on US15 is just spectacular... A bus-load of tourists were snapping pix of the SSR when I came out!
The fall colours are pretty well done at home... As I drove south they were beautiful, but by the time I got to Lancaster, all was green again!

Of course Little John got into the action... Now, what was that discussion about clear bras...
Breakfast at DJ's Taste of the 50's diner...

They're in front of me, they're behind me, they're beside me... They're EVERYWHERE!
Stauffer's Cookies.... Yummy!
I still can't believe that sky... Oh yeah, the trucks were cool too
Apparently we weren't the only folks on the road with cool rides...

JIMJOEVAL's Jiminy...
What we do best... EAT!!! Patrice and Big Jim on the left, Cape Cod Blur ( Brenda and Jeff) on the right...
The most picturesque bridge on the tour... Interesting that by the time we got here we were down to 6 SSRs. One each from Massachusetts (Cape Cod Blur), Virginia (Big Jim), Indiana (Quest), Pennsylvania (PhotoBlur), Maryland (SSR71) and Ontario (IFytFyrs)!
Now.... I found this at Wertz Candies. Gummy Doophus!
I have no idea what they taste like. Can't make out what the smell is... I'm a bit aprehensive about trying them. What the hell is a gummy doophus supposed to taste like? Ham?
So, we had done the chocolate and bridges all together on Sunday, so today we aimed for something different. We headed out for Middletown and arrived at the Middletown and Hummelstown RR depot.
