I know the area very well Charlie - I will miss it and if I were not here I would have been there with you and our partners the Prowlers, they're a good group!

The Mount Washington Hotel is a great place and very scenic. Stayed there for a week of skiing a few years ago. The skiing was not as great as out west (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, California). The hotel and service were great. Everything is on an elegant level. Evening dinning is also elegant with an orchestra ( not a band ). Best of all men are required to wear a dinner jacket or suit. Good thing I knew to take a suit and a sports coat. My first day there I called myself going into a storage room to get my ski equipment and walked into a pretty large room that had about two hundred sports coats and suit jackets for men so that they could be allowed in the dinning hall for evening dinner. Dinner every night was formal white tablecloth and needless to say the service was beyond reproach. Watched a few people try to waltz to the orchestra after dinner. The hotel had a very large pool that reminded me of the type of pool you would see the Mafia bosses use in the old movies. The most memorable part about the hotel besides it's scenic view was it's very small elevator operated by an operator with the closing gate door. Sometimes I'd just take the big stairs down to the main lobby. And last but not least the hallway floors. If I remember correctly they were wooden and covered with carpet but were like smooth waves going up and down. Great place though I was really there to go to the Segway factory for some training the next week. If you ever get out that way it's a great place to relax and get away from it all.
