OK, we're staying Friday and Saturday night. I didn't take from the pool of the 10 reserved rooms though. Since it will be our anniversary weekend, I opted for a suite. I figured we should have separate rooms to sleep in.

Just my opinion, Kevin...but I think you should take a room regardless. Unless you want to stay with family.

We'll make half the run

Debbi and I are going to our son's Rugby game on Saturday, Oct 6 at 1:00 PM so we can't make the Chocolate Run.

His game is about half-way to Chocolate Run so what we're going to do is drive up after the game and try and either meet up with everyone at the last stop or at the hotel. We'll stay at the hotel that night so we can go with everyone on the next day's Covered Bridge tour.

I'll need some directions on we're the stops will be for the Chocolate Run so I can try and make the last stops. If I can't make them, I'll nee some directions on dinner and the hotel.

See everyone then

We are holding off making any final decisions about treatment until they complete the Gene Study to determine my bodies ability to withstand or even work with the Chemo.

Best bet is 10% make it to 5 years and 50% make it for 3 years - But that's with all the luck in this world and the next. I'm hoping for a positive Gene to help me out with this problem.

Our next trip to Boston is Wednesday next week - At that time we will make the decision as to where I go and what type of therapy I will elect, if any.

Thank you all for your thoughtful notes -

I know it'd be quite a drive (just the reverse of what several of us did to get to Woodward). With 2 drivers, it wouldn't be too bad at all.

It would certainly be great if you could make it. Take some time off and enjoy an event that someone else planned out for a change.

Oh, for those that aren't paying attention, it is on a holiday weekend - Columbus day is on Monday the 8th. Some of us don't have to work that day so we have some recovery time after the trip.

Thumbs up Count me in

I should be able to make at least one if not both days, no hotel needed for me. Do you have any idea on the starting times yet?

As long as they have rooms open.

10 AM worked pretty well last time for both tours. I'll know better on the bridge run after the dry run this weekend. I've got my GPS programmed with the exact planned route. Any necessary changes will be done after the weekend, and then I'll post the route up for everybody. I only have to work out where we start from. If most of us are staying in Ephrata, I'll probably count on that as being the starting point. It's only a few miles down US 322 to Pool Forge as the first stop. (which reminds me, I gotta send them an email to let them know)

Chick,
As they had told me YOU ARE NOT A STATISTIC. They told me I had 3 to 5 years and that even if I made it through that there is a 50% - 70% my Cancer will return. So far this July it's been 4 years and I'm going strong. If you need anything or want to talk drop me a line.
My PRAYERS are with you and they're Jewish ones and we go right to the source.

Starting place

I would suggest the parking lot of the Wal-mart as a starting point. Since most of you will be in Ephrata, and for the others it's right on rt 322 not even a 1/4 mile from rt 222.

I thought I posted to this thread already but I don't see it. I will be there for both days. I won't need a place to stay. Look forward to seeing everyone again.

A preview of some sights today

They're from my phone's camera, so the quality sucks.
  1. Pool Forge
  2. At the Red Caboose "motel"
  3. At the Red Caboose "motel"
  4. Country side #2
  5. Amish "Bus" (it's a tour buggy)

One problem I have to find a solution to is lunch break and possible pit stop locations. The tour is going through countryside where there is quite literally nothing around but the farms for miles.
