Arrow Got Water ???

We live in Northeast PA, and if you watch the weather channel you probably
heard that this area has seen a lot of rain in the last three days.
Rainfall totals have been in the 8 to 12 inch range around here.

Flooding is all over the area with record water levels being set.
Binghamton NY is being evacuated with the city expected to flood shortly from the Susquehanna River.
We are 40 miles west of Binghamton and the Susquehanna flows to Sayre and meets with the
Chemung river from the west and then heads South to Scranton.

Our house sits between the two rivers but we are high and dry.
Went out this morning and got a few pics.

* Marshmallows
* Mobile home park
* Snow plows to move debris
* Basketball anyone?
* Second floor of the scoring building.

Its sad that some places get to much rain and places like texas needs it to help put out the fires.
But picture number four gives a new meaning to slam dunk.

That is so bad , we were very lucky only a couple of inches of rain here we were right on the edge of the storm. The eastern part of the state can't handle much more.

Thumbs down September Floods

We got lucky down here in Lackawanna County. The storm went around us on both sides. There is flooding to the east and to the west of us. I am keeping an eye on the Lackawanna River as I keep my R in a garage near there. The garage was flooded in 2004 and got my wifes car. It finally stoped raining now, I hope it stays that way. Walter

Bummer, SSR290 . . . definitely NOT pretty.

STAY DRY and SAFE!

By the way . . . 8 to 12 inches of rain is a good, if not great, year for us.

York and Lancaster have been completely inundated as well. Getting plenty of that rain here in Maryland too. The town of Upper Marlboro was completely shut down by flooding. Lots of roads were closed this morning due to deep standing water.

Columbia, which is just a few miles north of me, got over 9.5 inches of rain. That's the "high water" mark so to speak. Other areas around the city start at the mid 5 inch range and go up.

Part of US 301 is closed indefinitely near LaPlata due to severe storm damage.

If we can pipe oil across continents, why can't we pipe water from where we got too much to where its' needed? Could you imagine what the south west would look like if we could take some of it and put it to use? A lot of people have pondered this... yet nobody seems to want to put it into practice.
